Doc, just an observation from your posts so-far. Do you often do late night / overnight rides ?

Pretty often. Especially in the rains if it's raining early morning and I laze it out and sleep in.

Short rides around Pune city. One was to Lavle-Pirangut (30-35 kms kms) Panshet (55 kms) and other was to Temghar dam (70kms).

I have recently purchased bicycle and have just begun the cycling journey. Its a daily learning experience.

Wow! That is quite something maverickxx2006. You remind me of my friend, David, a cycle aficionado. He and I had a friendly competition and obviously, he left me behind in the dust. But the experience was amazing.

That is an insane number! Hats off to you brother for completing such a hectic but soul-stirring ride. I used to cycle on my Kross Spider non-gear bike everyday at the start of the pandemic in May 2020. The experience was surreal. BTW, which brand is your cycle? Do you have to set the gear ratios at specific settings before starting your rides?

Haha. The bike is a Triban RC500 from Decathlon. Gears are modulated throughout the ride just like any other vehicle. Still getting the hang of it. I think its been about a month or so since I got the bike and i have been very pleased with the bike and my own progress. Weekend's are now dedicated to "endurance" bike rides as opposed to wandering aimlessly with a motorcycle.

If you use a mobile phone with a back cover, fold your notes and put them inside it. They will be sandwiched between the cover and the phone. Then, put the phone in a ziplock / self sealing plastic bag and fold the sealing side. Then put it in the middle pocket of your jersey. Using this method since many years now. Never had wet notes.

Good idea bro. Phone is always safe in center pocket. I even have a rubber band around it to keep the plastic even more water tight.

Re: Post pictures of your Bicycle on day trips here!

I love this thread. Thanks OP for creating the thread.

Seeing so many Scott owners here, I own a Scott Subcross 30. Bangalore offers great cycling weather all round the year. I have been cycling from last 5 years. Started out with a second hand firefox target. It was great bike, rode it for about 2 years and sold it to a friend who still rides it often.

Currently riding my scott subcross, longest rides have been close to 60 kms and not more. Subcross is a hybrid bike and I have added minor touches to it like skinny road tyres and some lights to make it my own. Here are a few pics of my pride and joy.

I would love to connect with fellow bangaloreans who ride in and around south Bangalore.

Re: Post pictures of your Bicycle on day trips here!

What a great thread!
Here's my ride - A Hero Sprint Finisher.
I started cycling in March 2021 and have only fallen in love with it with every passing day. I ride a daily of 15-20 kms and roughly two 60 km trips a month.
My daily route is in and around Bandra, Pali Hill-Carter Road-Mount Mary-Kane Road-Bandstand-Kane Road upwards and back up Pali Hill.

I ride to south bombay twice a month- preferably sundays to be at Horniman Circle for meetups. Would love to meet up with fellow cyclists on the way !

Here are a few pictures.

This is how my bike looked initially- until I stripped off the stickers. It's all black now and I plan to work on handmade caricature soon. Would love some guidance on it here!

Re: Post pictures of your Bicycle on day trips here!

Cycling for me has always been an escape from the city's hustle bustle and enjoying the silence of a quiet early morning nature ride. I am always on the lookout for such lush green hilly forest areas within the city, and what better time other than the monsoons to witness nature blooming. An absolutely amazing way to kick start the day. Sharing a few snaps of the recent rides.

Sharing a picture from one of my recent early morning urban jungle rides on my good ol' Phoenix. Taken at St.Marks Road, Bangalore.

P.S - The bike was on the footpath only for a quick picture while making sure it wasn't an inconvenience to the public. I'm not one of those infamous footpath riders of Bangalore

Lovely pics there Kpzonwheels. I liked that one the most in which the sun is piercing through the trees. Of course the other favorite is the one with the ocean in the background.
