Hello Fellow BHPians,

This is my first post in Team-BHP.clap:

I have booked a Maruti Swift Dzire Vxi (Glistening Grey) which will be delivered to me on 29th February 2012 (Leap Year Day) after registration.

I noted down the Chassis No. which reads MA3EJKDIS00110556. Can someone decode it for me please.

Char 11: Manufacturing Plant Location (H = Halol)

I booked Linea Emotion on 8th feb 2012 and got the delivery of car on 24th with VIN ending with ALZ.Now I know LZ stand for 2012 but does A mean it was manufactured in January?

From the Given numbers you can make out the following ;

4th Character A= January
5th and 6th Character combined = Manufactured in 2012
10th Character C = Model Year 2012.

for tata vista i found this link in the tatacars worldwide site. there is a pdf which i have attached which decodes the current vin. but not sure whether this would also be the same for indian cars.
Wildon please have a look and see if you can decode the latest tata vista cars vins

Thanks for the link. The only difference with Indian VIN/Chassis is the 12 Character. Here it represents Month of Production. for. e.g A=January.
