Swift 1.3 DDIS

My current setup
HU: Kenwood 6539 : 8.8K : (B&W)
Front Comps: JBL 508: 4.1K (W/O - B/W)
Amp 1: Blaupunkt GTA Spl MKII : 4.8 K (B/W)
Sub: Blaupunkt GTw 1200 with custom sealed box : 2.4k + .8k (B/W)
Rear Fills: JBL 938s on a custom MDF parcel tray : 3k
Wiring + Clamps/Clips/Ties: Havells (16 or 25 sq mm) - 0.5K,
RCA: Boss 0.2 K
Damping: Noisekill : 3.3 k
Installation: DIY - Priceless + misc sundry help from some electricians to screw in the spacers, fix MDF on the rear seat not exceeding 100 Rs

Total : 27.55 K

Am I happy with the setup - hell yes, will I recommend this to others - yes (minus the JBL compos since they are a little too bright for my taste and the BOSS RCAs)

Kenwood X794, the market connotation for this model is X7016 (parallel model thats available in India), so basically what you want is excelon without Bluetooth ..right ? Now from the information that I have gathered in delhi is that this should be priced around 13K INR (MRP) and the actual price should be downwards depending on the deal you can cut with the seller.

An observations here, the x7016 / x8016BT (equivalent of x794/x994 respectively) dont sport the excelon badge on the HU...do they ? I couldn't quite notice it on the HU photo available on the kenwood India Portal. Couple of x8016BT owners have also confirmed the same.

Also, If you have more Kenwood related queries you can look up the thread below.

but its the same HU. The X in the series defines it as eXcelon series HU. Both sounds same.

Kenwood setup in a Nissan Micra

Current Setup:
Kenwood KDC U346 head unit (6500/-) with bill and warranty.
JBL GTS-256C 6" components front (5990/-) with bill and warranty.
Kenwood 6" coaxial speakers rear (1790/-) with bill and warranty.

Total Cost of setup = 14,280/-. Got it installed a week back on 31st July. Installation charges waived off for me, but will be around 300/- to 500/- depending on your accessory dealer.

Type of music I listen to: I like to listen to soft music and instrumental on a low volumes, so amps and sub woofers were no-no for me. Even a basic head unit and 4 coaxial speakers would have done but after reading the threads in the ICE section, I upped my budget a bit and got good quality speakers and a slightly better HU.

How serious? I was quite serious about getting a good quality system installed in my car. So spent nearly 2-3 weeks reading about different permutations & combinations in the ICE sections on T-Bhp.

Recommendations: Yes, of course! Those who are on a budget but want some decent quality music without compromising on quality, can go forward for this setup. Also for those who like to hear soft music without much dhinchak-dhinchak in it.

Wiring: JBL - 2k.
Damping: Dynamat Extreme: Rs 6k.

Type of music I listen to: Bollywood, Sufi, World Music, Have varied taste. Depends upon the mood. A. R. R. is all time favorite. Only CDs though.

Hey Zom,

Congrats. You are done (at least most of it). Can you give the break up of above?

To quote from your previous post:

Quote:
got a few options,
Option 1 - Pioneer H.U + Infinity Reference 6.5 + Infinity Ref Co-axials + JBL GT5-S644 Amp

Option 2 - Replace Front Comps and Rear Co-axials with Boston Acoustics

Option 3 - Rockford Fosgate Front Comps and Rear Co-axials powered by Auditor 4 Ch. Amp.

All the three combination's will cost around 30K ballpark with wiring and installation and hopefully good tuning. I will be auditioning all three setup in my car and will choose the best to my taste!
Except for Auditor Amp in option 3, I see an entirely different setup. Was this solely based on auditioning? What was the driving factor behind the decision?

What's your impression without the damping? How really important is it?

Congrats anyways!!! Enjoy your music.
