I bought DrivePro 220 @9642/- in March 2016 from Amazon India. It has almost doubled. Sanjubaba if you are using Amazon mobile app then change the setting of country from India to United States. Search for Transcend DrivePro 220. Now you will get the price of the cam which is 144USD. It is Rs. 9700/- The one showing the product does not ship it to India. Check other sellers. There is one seller by the name- OneDealOutlet Online. He has only 3 units available. He will ship it to India. It says that it will reach you by 8-9 August. I am in Pune so it showed this date. Check it and tell us whether it was successful or not. Buy 64GB SD card from India only.

Try SpyTech G1w-c. It got very good reviews and value for money. I use on two of my cars, picked them on one of my international trip, but if it is available in India, then I would recommend it. C because of the capacitor based back up for the camera which is important in Indian heat conditions

I finally installed it will write a review soon. There is lot of glare in the video apart form that it is fantastic, quality is very good.
Also after around 10 days once it cam out from suction mount while driving, it did not fall however as the cable kept it hanging.

The suction mount is not good. Over time it will start to vibrate badly when on less than smooth roads. I have found the problem to be in the joint between the sucker and the black plastic cup covering it. The sucker attachment develops play over time. On my DP100 its bad enough to be irritating and on the DP220 it has only started. I will switch to adhesive mount.

How is the gps of the Transcend 220. Does it have a good detailed map of indian roads ?

Just bought the Drivepro 220 from Amazon for Rs.11,640 with a 16gb card and windshield mount included. Plus Amazon is doing a 15% cashback offer so pretty happy with that. Also added in a 64Gb class 10 SanDisk card.

Pretty good deal.

Does Drivepro 520/ 220 has GPS coordinates stamp on the live video on the screen?
I mean, if I want to know the coordinates of the present place, will I be able to know that just by looking at the screen?

I believe you should be able to do so. When the camera is in action and the screen is on, you can normally see Time and Date and other parameters anyway.

This was there even in a Dashcam that I bought 7 years before equipped with GPS, right now I use DP200.

I got delivery of Drivepro 220 yesterday.
Cost: Rs 11499 from Amazon.in.
The dashcam serves my purpose of use and is quite a good buy for anyone who is looking for a reasonably priced dashcam with GPS.

Following key points influenced my decision making:
1. Good clarity recording during day time. In actual performance, the night quality is not great to write home about; but still, with me mostly doing my drives during day, the compromise was ok for me. Day recording are vivid and renders much detail to the picture. Snap shot can be taken with a hard switch also.
Recording is done at 720p (consumes 59 MB for a 1 minute clip) and 1080p (consumes around 100MB for a minute clip).
Options for recording duration can be selected between 1,3 and 5 minute clips.
2. GPS stamp on the video; which was particularly necessary for me to track and pin point locations of drive on a later date. If not for the GPS availability, I would've gone for an SJ4000 or SJ5000 action cam series which would come for just above half the price.
3. Drivepro 520 has a rear cam facing the cabin, which did not appeal to me as I didn't want coverage of people travelling with me. Reduction of this additional camera has relegated much bulk to the cam and much weight.

Other notable points.
1. The cable with 12V adapter is pretty long and I have routed it through the windshield casing through the A pillar panel, down to the floor board, passed it under the driver's seat to the 12V socket on the second row seats. (car is XUV).
2. The cable has a mini USB and therefore you will need a suitable adaptor to connect to laptop. Alternatively, the memory card can be easily removed for file transfers.
3. Wifi functionality works pretty seamlessly. 100 MB file transfer takes slightly more than a minute.
4. Once connected through WiFi, live video of the cam can be seen on the device. At this point, the video won't be available on the dashcam screen.
5. Drivepro app controls in android are pretty easy and easily navigable. Not aware of iOS version.
5. The package includes a suction mount (only and not a permanent mount), user guide, memory card, connection cable and warranty card.

Congratulations. It's a good buy. I have 2 of them, 1 is nearing 2 years, both are working well. But the adapter is not of great quality, mine went kaput after 6 months. Since then I'm using a USB cable and it's working normally. Get your camera warranty registered on Transcend website. It'll save lots of hassle if something goes wrong.

For those using adhesive mount for the DP200 , what is the most effective way to transfer the cam between cars ? The suction mount is available on Amazon, but isnt fulfilled by Amazon is most likely ordered from the USA. Any tips ?

Have charging cable routed and "ready to use" on both cars along with adhesive mount in place on both.

With this, the best way to transfer cam between the cars would be be simply slide and take it off and slide it again and lock it to the mount on the other car.

I regularly side and keep the camera inside the glovebox whenever I know that sun will be really harsh for a parked car for longer duration. So I can at least vouch for the build of the slot on the DP200 and its longevity in terms of frequently fixing and removing it from the mount - I use the suction mount but then the technique is same with both type of mounts to mount the camera.
