How did the glass crack? Did you drop all 4 woofers (3 different types, if you please) on the rear toughened glass together? Because you sure as heck couldnt have cracked it by playing your system.

Come ON man, this is a car audio forum with a lot of intelligent people. We KNOW one cannot even crack a thin pane of glass with that, leave alone a pane of super tough glass.

Please think before you post, unless you enjoy having people laugh at you.

Edit: You posted this while I was typing

Ramie - WOW what a system man!!!! Looks like our dear friend Busted aka Drift Kid has some serious competition now

Just curious though what brands Subs (I can see 3 different ones there!!) & Amps were you using? And I'm assuming there was no rear seat in the car either, was it??

And like Sam said how did you crack the glass???

Good morning guys...well i had bght a 3rd owned zen in 2004,so i was the 4th user... didnt had ne-idea about the car while buying the scraped zen...but as i wanted 2 make a sound machine i bought it..realised the car was fitted wid most duplicate body parts....i overhauled it after a year..then saw a thin line crack developed from 1 of the corner which was about .5inch..and then i installed dis and the crack stretched to 4inches...so may be because of the vibrations its developed... got it changed..and yess the rear windshield was locally fitted....

I use 3sub in my Ikon still nothing has happened in 4yrs of installation except some body noise....

Lolz no competition any more sold the car 4months ago in thane, and the system is distributed among the frns.

Good Morning ramie. One more gentle nudge, team-BHP does not allow sms slang. Please do not use it the next time you are constructing a tall tale.

Thanks for your cooperation.

ramie,

a) You must be realted to Tool or atleast you guys schooled together or it is just me. Please use the "carriage return" key on your keyboard. Think of it as the brake in your car.

b) I have seen glass (not toughened) vibrate and this was with 2 JBL 2245 (powered by a pair of 300W monobocks) woofers in my home. My dad loved the effect his Eagles and Pink Floyd albums had on the glass but the glass did not break and it was not plain 6mm window glass. I dont doubt the glass cracked, I do doubt the glass cracked from sound pressure. It would more likely be disloged than crack. If you are remisicing about the Maxell Tape add where Ella Fritzgerald (I think) breaks a champagne glass with her voice trust me it was a trick. They used a signal generator and tuned the freq to the exact resonant frequency of the glass.

c) Between Sam, B&T, Gunbir, Autophile and co they have seen almost all there is to see in audio (car and home) I wound not bet against either of them least of all any combination of these 4 musketeers (as well as guys like Tool).

d) The correct term is 0.5 inch not .5 inch

ohh sorry for the sms language.... no matter how much you try to avoid sms language takes over by mistake... yess there was a think crack of 0.5inch which i think increased till 4inched due to vibrations.... i dont think glass breaks with sound pressure as i am using multiple subs my current car.But for sure the crack increase with vibrations....still could not configure if really a kickaz sound system in a small car can break the glass to pieces???....i had installed multiple subwoofers in my cars since i was in college...but zen experience was worse..may be a duplicate windshield...!!
