Some more progress pics,

All sanding completed, the benzel is nice and smooth now even though it may not appear so in the pic. You can run your finger over the surface now and make out its very smooth and even. The HVAC legends are kind of double moulded and rather impractical to remove. So its simply masked for painting. Plastic cutouts from some scrap lamination are used here and is sealed with , umm 'fevicol' so that the paint doesnt run in and ruin the legends. Fevicol because it was the only suitable thing lying around at the moment and it will simply peel off the plastic when done. Masking with tape would have been tacky.

After first coat of paint. Used a acrylic based flat black spray paint. Its starting to look good now.

And heres the benzel done after paint with the HVAC masking removed. The IR cover is fitted and it blends in nicely, rather hard to make out in these pics.

And another view

Its come out nicely and i don't need to go out and buy another center console . Now all thats remaining is fitting the LCD into this benzel.

Sheldon, again as everyone stated - this is WOW job. Just a query, what paint did you use? I wanted to paint the light grey parts in my car to the colour you did above.

Are you kidding???? It looks way better than the crappy stock plastics in the Indica/go. I hope someone from Tata Motors is watching this thread.

I have a bad experience with Bosny. Either I did not use the right way to apply it or that was a bad can I got. I used it on some parts of my bikes plastic and I could simply rub the paint off with bare hands after the paint dried up completely. Any suggestions to avoid this?

Plastic primer could help. Try it first on a small or hidden spot of the plastic you are going to be painting.
