The Eden is a good solution. Not much fancy hardwaring is required to install. If you can live with a 1GHz proccy, which means limited application as in no HD movies or even semi-decent gaming, go for it.

Centrafuse's minimum proccy requirement is 1GHz, so you might find yourselves running out of computing power at times, but for an average user, that should be alright.

Check out atom-powered boards if you need more computing power. Or you could check out VIA C7.

Any MINI -ITX mobo will fit in a double DIN setup, depending on your needs you can chose from a variety of mobos, from single core Atom processor to dual core atom to a regular desktop processor , on a MIN-itx board. the size is usually 6.5" x6.5" so the size is small enough to fit in that space.

Thanks for those info. So its Mini -ITX i can go for. Can you provide the deatails of other recommended components which is required for the setup. I'm looking for a basic setup.

Priority wise,

1. Navigation with Voice
2. Music ( I prefer a volume level of 10-15 max)
3. Movies (for Kid)
4. OBD II
5. rest are bonus. (but prefer an expandable setup)

Be careful with the depth. Mini ITX is already 170mm deep and then with the display depth included it will not fit in the dashboard. I had same issue with my i10. Also you need some room at the back for connecting connectors to the motherboard.

I could not fit mini itx with display in the dash boad because of the limited depth. The display takes about 20-25mm and then mini itx with 170mm wont fit in the available space.

Yes, I will. I need some more time to make pictures and have one issue to resolve with the actuall fitting/alignment of the PC in the dashboard. I am currently working on a new enclosure to address the same. Once done, I will start the thread.

Other components needed are, SMPS with intelligent control. navigation you can buy the USB GPS or buy a Blue tooth gps device that can be used as wired mouse as well as wireless to connect to your mobile.
Need an amplifier for the music cause the output from the mobo will not be enough for running speakers.
OBD2 cable with a OBD software, you can choose from any one off the net.
for expandable support , go in for a MSI or Nvidia board, Intel does not have much upgradabilty.
