you can import them, not a problem, but there's always a risk of refurbs/defectives/B grades etc. given the budget of $ 200, there's no way you can source them "in-store" at that price; you have to go "online" mode.

in my opinion, alpine (genuine) is anyday a better product than kenwood. i seriously suggest doing an audition of every combo that you are considering BEFORE you buy. in case you need to audition JBL 301.1 and bass tube let me know.

Hey LBM,
Getting Kenwood 9103D for 13k from a reliable source like Driven would alos make GOOD sense as ample power is to be considered for future upgrades as well...What say ???....Is going JBLied really the best option, considering that there are already satsified customers using the 9103D (am hoping after reading Gunbir's quotes ) whic seems to have more bang for the buck (with quality) ????

It is a good deal but I would not buy Kenwood. The specs mentioned here are a little confusing to me..

Kenwood Electronics UK Ltd. | Amplifiers > KAC-9103D (details)

for a 900 rms watts amps the current consumption of 40 amps and only 60 amps fuses.

Ignored that part on specs. page........Forgot to imply P=V*I.....
So I guess D-class JBL will be the ULTIMATE choice....!!

So you are implying that the 9103 does not produces the company claimed power output ?? Even though it is CEA-2006 compliant ??

Well, If we go by the specs on kenwood's webpage it does look like that as if every itsy bitsy care has been taken to create this amplifier, however when you do a simple calculation based on the basic power formulas you will find out that these specs are contradictory. Though I am not to sure where how KENWWOD came up with a spec page like this but if you refer to this page you will surely agree with me and LBM........http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/diy-do...ick-wires.html

The amp is around 24-25k (roughly),There is a small issue with this amp that you need to purchase a car specific harness along which appox would cost 6-7k more,So it turn's out to be around 30k+ investment
