Been using polkis since I could remember, from the experience they can be really 'bright' to an average consumer so I would advise to audition them before buying. A toned down version of the above components can be found at:

Online dealers might offer the products at a discounted rates but their exchange/return policies (esp. in case of electronics) can be tricky.

They both are from the same series. It's only the sizes that differ.

Re: Top 10 6.5" Component Car Stereo Speakers

Hi Guys,

Can you please tell me if the following speaker is worth trying? The last few threads talk about db6501. What about db651? I plan to use them as front speakers for my Honda Amaze.

Here is the link:
Polk db651 https://www.amazon.in/dp/B000P0PF9G/..._n.H2zb8FBBGE6

Has anyone tried these too?
Rockford Fosgate R165X3 Prime 6.5-Inch Full-Range 3-Way Coaxial Speaker - Set of 2 https://www.amazon.in/dp/B00BF6HWCM/..._nVg2zbDM18PR6

I am also looking for a recommendation for 4 inches rear speakers. As of now I am planning to retain the original HU.

Thanks!

db6501 is Component speaker and db651 (the one you are referring) is co-axial speaker.

Had an audition today with this combo (Front : Components; Rear : co-ax) on a Swift and that's a league apart for the one migrating from OE speakers.

The cones on All Four Door speakers on My E Class W212 have torn and music is distorted. Is this a common occurrence for a 6 year old car. ? The speakers are riveted and any idea on what would be the best alternative for these without much modification.

The stock speakers give away after 5 yrs or so. It has happened with most of my cars. The rivets can be removed with a drill bit. Go with the polk audio DB6501. They seem decent.
