the the lens could have got misaligned. I am surprised this has happened to a modern CD player. Some years ago i had a much more severe accident but the CD did not skip. Funny the song being played then was Wanted Dead or Alive (BonJovi).

my question here is will the Cs be able to provide and appreciable balance with the 936 or will the GTO 426 to a much better job ?

GTO426 costs 2.5k and Cs costs 2.25k?

i assume once you get the mono amp you'll use the 240 to run front and rear speakers. in which case get the PA275 or 300.1 or even the Pio D510. The PA275 is a 2 ch amp that needs to be brided and hence in bridge mode cant drive subs under 4 ohms. The 300.1 and D5510 are 2 ohms capable. The 300.1 runs about 10K and the D510 around 12-14K. The PA275 can be had for under 5K and if you haggle even 4K is possible.

When you go to the soundfactor, go to the JBL office inside and ask ashok venugopal. He may still have some.

The price difference is about 600 bucks. The CS2104 is about 1900 bucks as opposed to the 426 for 2500. I like the CS2104 very much and it makes fantastic value for money and does complement the GTO quite well.
