for 8-9K i would
a) look to get the nicest set of components for the front
b) get a nice sub use can use with the sony 502.

unfortunately to do both you need more than 9K.

So see if you can trade in the FX93 + 4K for the sub (only becuase the FX93 will fetch you more than the 6891). then you use the 6891 as full range (no need to disconnect any parts then). A decent sub would cost you 7-9K so you need all you can get for the FX93 (3-5K). I suspect you wont get even 2K for the used 6891.

Use the balance 5K + whaterever you get for the boston tweeters and TS20 (you wont need these) for a good front component and atleast some good RCA cables for the Alpine and Sony amps.

Re:Sam's Skoda RS

a) one amp is installed on the gas tank!
b) how does the HF and Mids from the 6x9 enter the cabin
c) aren't the subs gonna roll when he accelerates or brakes
d) with bit more planniing he could have installed the bigger amp and capacitor on the larger seat back.

Is there room for better filter caps? I'd use atleast 4700uf/63V per channel and maybe a 2uf/100V polyester bypass.
I don't think 4700uF will fit in. They will be too tall. What I could do is use wires and fasten the caps on the sides of the case.

Are all those subs for use in the car or are they just being transported or something?

This one is just a classic case of the installer trying to do a job in a few hours and the customer just wanting to make a blooming statement. Apparently the tubes dont roll around once the seat is pushed back. I was a little appalled at the car, but well, the guy seems to be happy. I'll bet he can barely hear the speakers at the back. I'm just trying to imagine the pandemonic and chaotic bass that must be emanating from his skoda.

Thanks Navin and Jkdas...

All this while Iv been focussing on finding 4" comps for the front... Thought just enetered my head that we might sell the car before January in that case I will have to buy a fresh component setup for the next car (Lancer... but if I have my way a used zen, balenoor OHC hehehe)
Anyway wondering if investing in 4" will be worthwhile after all. The both of you also mentioned earlier that anything bigger than 4" will need to be mounted on the door panel, and also have fibreglass casing. If i get a 5-6" compo, Im scared to ask what your opinion is on directly installing them on the panels!

@JK : Basstube will probably not suit my music style. But GTO1000b is an interesting proposition, if I get a bigger car I could throw in one more of those and I think Id be set Are you planning on spare-wheel-subbing your JBLfyed xing

@Navin : I know the fx93's are great, and selling them would be a waste.. just trying to explore all options. Dunno if any dealers would exchange them for me... lets see.

Dear Music Guru Sam,
I have recently arrived from the wilderness and am not completely happy with the sound in my car.
I very temporarily temporarily have money to change all that.
I wanna dump my b*** tube and change to a 2 12" sub bolted onto my rear seats setup.
This way i will also free up a lot more space in the boot.
I hear that you are beeg musics expert and can help me these matters
what say you??
Yours soundfully
