Hello Friends, Ive purchased an Indica DLS V2. Wanted your help and guidance on what ICE to fit in the car. My budget is around 11k-12K. I stay at Mumbai. Not very interested in Bass etc. But the sound must be crystal clear at high volumes as well. Would request you to let me know at the earliest.

Cheers!! balaji.

kb, give hrman the best possible solution may be in 2/3 options; like with bass, w/o bass and amp, without rear speakers but with bass etc.

Dear KB100,
So sorry for not specifyng this earlier. A whip on the back for me with a wet noodle

I would require a Head Unit, Rear and Dash spekers(4 speakers in total). If in this budget 2 door speakers can also be thrown in, nothing like it.
Bass is not mandatory for me.
Can an ampli be accommodated within budget? Please let me have some options..

Cheers!! Balaji.

Your priority is 4 door spkears and no/minimal bass.

So you should go for
pio/kenwood/blau HU -5000
Rest for front coaxials and rear coaxial or
rear 6x9 on raer parcel tray.-7000-9000

Many friends have been happy with a Blaupunkt HU for 6-7K and 4 JBL CS series speakers for about 5K. 2 of them (both using Santros) prefered the JBL CS to the Blau GTO series at this price point. I would suggest listening to the combo above along with any your dealer might suggest.

Sony and Pio HUs are just as good as Blau but there is a lot of Pio that comes sans B&W so make sure you get a B&W with yours.

Hmm, now that sounds like a full same-gender orgy replete with phase plugs and amp knobs as toys. Sheesh! I'll kindly stay out of this one.

Yesterday I got my Lancer loaded with the HU and Ovals.

HU - Alpine 9856
http://www.alpine-usa.com/en/product...model=CDA-9856

Ovals - Infinity REF9613i
http://www.fxaudio.com/caraudio/infi...s-ref9613i.htm

Got the Infinity at CATS in Chennai. Met Sridhar, the guy running the place, nice guy. He was hay ho about Coimbatore and the fibre mould work of people there, saw a couple of installation photos on his computer, they were amazing, a Lancer modded with JBL JBL JBL and it also had PS2 controls popping out of the elbow rest on the rear seat. We had a long chat.

Hey SAM heard you had recently come down to chennai. I was telling Sidhar about the forum and about all the guys here on the group, thats when he told me you were here.

And now for my system, the Infinity is driven using the HU. Iam aware that the Inifinity is at its best when its hooked up with an amp, please recommend a good amp to drive the Inifinity and my future compo for the front. Right now the fronts are the factory fitted speakers. Iam planning to go for a set of JBL components.

My upgrade list:

1. Amp to drive the rear and the fronts
2. Amp to drive the subs(I have'nt got subs yet)

Sridhar from CATS was recommending a 6 channel amp from JBL to drive all my components in the car the ovals, fronts and a sub. But Iam not really sure about it, need some pointers on that(very expensive 20k for the amp). Iam looking for Quality, Clear and Tight music. I love to the right balance of mids, highs and tight lows at low/medium volume position.

Also need clarification on the subs, should I go for one or two subs and I am planning to have a gas kit fitted in the car soon keeping that in mind also tell me what kind of enclosure should I go for which would give the right beat inside the cabin. Note: I dont want to place the subs on the tray .

HELP me people......

Hi Harmon,

NIce HU and speaker choice. Do the HU a favour, get a compo for a start.

Now, a 6channel amp frm JBL at 20k? Its worth if so! I would suggest a JBL GTO75.4 ( 4 channel amp). Since you wanted tight bass, get boxed sub. Two subs is not what everyone would like and more over you need a good mono to drive it and hence you will need some good amount of money. Do check amit's setup for an idea.

Also, if you can get a mono (JBL GTO300.1 if u have $ or JBL CS 300.1) to power you sub. Or,bridge the 2 channel of teh 4 channel amp to drive the sub. Also, a good 4 channel powering teh Infinity and a compo ( I would suggest Infinity compos) would give you good bass for a start. You can add a sub and mono amp later on. What say?

Anna let me be honest - I would appreciate if you are clear on what kind of money you can spend for your car audio system in your car. I understand that a 6channel amp is 20K and is expensive, I feel you need to look at different amplifiers for your speakers and your Sub's. If you are looking at a tight bass Please look in to a monoblock amplifier match the wattage and then decide if u need 1 or 2 sub's. You gas connection can also be fitted without problem even with 2sub's. to drive your speakers you can look at amplifiers like Audison SRX range or you can even look at the alpine 345 for your speakers. Mono block for your sub's you need to zero down on how many woffers you like to install and you also have to zero down that u need a high dB in your car or u need SQ in the car.
