Please help me set up audio for my Wagon R

Hi,

While I have another thread ( http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/car-en...gon-r-vxi.html ) going for audio help for my brand-new Wagon R Vxi...I have not found much headway there and so I am posting here. I am in dire need of help from all the audio Gurus here!

Right at the moment I am thinking in these lines.

1. Pioneer HU,

either 5750MP ( http://cgi.ebay.in/PIONEER-DEH-P5750...QQcmdZViewItem )

or 5850MP ( http://cgi.ebay.in/PIONEER-DEH-P5850...QQcmdZViewItem )

Now I live in this godforsaken place and the prices in town are at least Rs 3000/- higher than they are on Ebay India. I might end up buying from Ebay.

My question here is which one to go for? I am looking at the 3 preouts both models have to offer (I don't know much about Preouts and stuff, but general_neo http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/members/general_neo.html ...he is a friend of mine from the past..he said it would be future proof if I would go for an amp later).

Any other brands/models to look for in this price range? Any Sony models that are as good/better (for the same price or less?)

2. Front speakers: JBL GTO 426e
3. Rear speakers: JBL GTO 936e

What would be the approximate prices for the speakers? Any other brands/models to look for? Sam, where can I buy these from ....in this part of the country?

4. I am not installing a rear parcel tray as I don't want to compromise on the reclining rear seats. At the same time, I want my boot space. On the other thread, Saurav suggested going for having the speakers installed in boxes (Apparently, he did the same - the boxes just lie on the boot floor..no anchors). Will this be fine? How do I go about making the speakers boxes? I hope I have been comprehensive enough...I am confused to say the least

Aye Aye Captain !!

With referance to the 40%, Please refer to the following thread :
http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/market...wout-sale.html

Anyone who pm's Sam about the discount, will have to pay AN EXTRA 20% on any JBL product they buy.

HEHE

edit :
When I said aye aye captain it was with no referance to, kb100's HADDOCK... now thats just pure co-incidence !! LOL!!

So whose going to be Prof. Calculas ? Navin sir comes to mind because he keeps going on about how his memory is failing him and he is absent minded...and most importantly he is brilliant with his technical fundas =)

First he discards the Engine now the Audio system. I suggest we induct Sam into the "Master of Sparks" for this sacrilage. :-)

BTW are you in Chennai or Baroda? And if you are Baroda what are you doing there!

They might get tossed around. If you dont want to anchor them I would make sure that atleast one dimension is such that the box is tightly held either between the car rear seat and hatch or between the 2 sides. also your rear deck cant be used as it would block all the HF if it is installed on top of the boxes.

Those Alpines old???

Thinking of them -- it makes my almost-ready-to-buy Pioneer 5850 feel ancient!

They are older models the new models are CDE 9843, 47 and CDA 9851, 53, 55, 57. i'm told that the 9830 is similar in specs/features to the 9853, the 9833 to the 9855, and the 9835 to the 9857.
