If you closely examine the PCB, you'll see everything is printed on PCB itself as what to connect and where to connect.

Else post the pic of PCB here, I'll mark the pins for you, make sure to have a clean large pic using a digicam, not mobile cam.

I do not like the sound from this kit!

So after listening this carefully for a month with comparing other media player (Nokia N85), Desktop with playing ~320Kbps songs - It seems details are missing, it just make sound not good and clear. Bass it average but high and midhigh are gone. Left-right separation is not so good.
FM radio is also not that good as my Sony world-band radio or Mobile FM radio.

Remote keys are dieing one after another. ( I put Rs 25/ battery into it )

How to add a USB slot to my HU

I don't know if this has been discussed here earlier but I want to know if there is a way by which I can add a USB slot to my integrated HU which comes as factory default with Swift ZXi. Suggestions are welcome.

I also want to know if the integrated Nippon system can be replaced by aftermarket stereo if there is no solution to play USB in the factory fitted system.

Re: How to add a USB slot to my HU

Check if your HU has an AUX input option.
I think the one you are referring to has a button for AUX on front panel so with the button present there should be a place to input the AUX Audio.

Else the most Easy option would be to buy a FM Modulator from any local or online store.
Local market price for such a modulator should not be more than Rs.250/-
else save the fuel and order it from ebay sellers like this one.

Lastly, Ofcource you can buy a new HU which should fit just fine in Swift but I think that might be expensive .

Can I Add USB support to Sony RV20?

I have this Sony Hi Fi system. It is almost 7 years old

The intent of this post is to gather insight as to whether I can add USB support to it or not.

This system has a Game Sync port as you can see in the attached image. The question is, can some sort of device be added to these ports so that this system becomes USB enabled? ( Maybe some sort of speakers that have inbuilt USB port to attach USB devices )

No. You can't just solder in a USB point onto the board :-)

If the intent is to play music from other devices like USB players, I would suggest that buy a audio cable ( one side 3.5 mm audio pin and other side 2 red-white RCA connectors) which costs about 60 bucks and then you can play any music device and route its headphone's output to this device. I use this method when I am playing a movie on my laptop and want to see it on my LCD and home theatre.

Hope this helps.

Re: DIY - Now Add USB Support to your Old Head Unit/Amplifier

The intent is to add USB support to this player so that I can "attach" a usb pen drive to the player and play music rather than burning the music to CD every time.

Re: DIY - Now Add USB Support to your Old Head Unit/Amplifier

@longford, @abeer: at least read the thread from start - this thread is about practically adding a USB player to an audio setup which doesn't have one. This is the DIY section, if you haven't noticed.

If you are looking for a ready-built device, please go to the electronics market, you might find something suitable.

Re: DIY - Now Add USB Support to your Old Head Unit/Amplifier

I may be off topic. (Sorry Mods)

Best is buy a DVD player with USB support and connect it to the SONY system.
This will do the job.
Now a days you can find DVD player with USB max at 1K to 5K.
