hey jk i might sound rude buddy but thats not the way u decide whether a company is good or not..how much do u know about gunbir and hertz..well they have just about started their venture in india so its very unfair for u to say that u shouldnt buy hertz bcoz u havent heard about them nor have ur friends..we all are here to maintain healthy relations here and not to make comments such as these..u need to rate a company after judging their products and not making vague statements as these..who know hertz might grow up to something big in our audio industry like the other reputed brands..so stick to ur preferences and try not to look down on things u dont have much clue about or heard off..hope u take it in the right spirit..no offense intended..

Honestly, its so absurd !!!! sorry..
No worries bro.

I did buy an Alpine unit coz I knew abt it . I did buy a Sony CDX7500 unit coz I knew abt it. I am buying JBLs coz I knw abt them. I will buy Hertz if I have heard abt them. AND I would buy k_ajay if my frnds recommend that 2 me. Got the point?

brainwashing sometimes works mate , I was talking abt my view as Sam or Gunbir would be thinking... If i am happy with my JBL setup, I will tell my friends 2 buy JBL, and would even persuade them 2 get it.

oh dear, Guys dont sorry sorry me. I said I am ready 2 buy Hertz!!! :((
My point was my place (Kerala) is yet grow regarding car audio systems ! and that other companys r well knwn even if they r only available in teh grey market here.

and again, if i collect enough money I would try Hertz sub with its custom box. Lets c which I go for. New brands get to grw only if I and u buy them as we r willing to believe tehy r good and r ready 2 give them a try. right?

its like politics, we vote them 2 power coz we think they r good and then we may again reelect them or another new guy coz he is better.

just ignore my post guys. I like Alpine then JBL, then Sony ..in that order. Me is me

The last time I counted (1990) there were about 6500 companies making audio equipment of which 2900 were speaker companies.

There is no way one is gonna know them all so the only thing one should trust is ones ears. A big reason why companies like Harman Intl. have multiple brands (HI has grown inorganically) is because they need to tap multiple tastes, markets, etc. Some one will prefer Revel, others Infinity, others JBL, etc...in short buy what you prefer and this is the last time I'm gonna say this "THE MAN BEHIND YOU IS NOT IMPORTANT"

And that is that innit guys? It's all a matter of taste. Some buy out of preference, other out of attitude, some to keep up with with the joneses.
No brand is better than another. Ever. It's like saying my mother's dal is better than your mother's dal. Get my point?

And all of you chadhaoed on a guy who's said also he's drinking. Laanat hai tumpar. Chee Thoo.
All of you'll talk rubbish when you're drunk lol. Stand tall men. Respect the rubbish that we do and talk, as we respect that eternal dangler between our legs.
If we men do this to each other, women will rule the earth and destroy all the rubbish we stand for.
(wait a minute, this is the part where Navin says, sorry sam, that already happened in the 70's heh heh heh)

Arrey you're mad or what, I dont even know where Richmond Road is. What a nice name, na? Richmond Road.

Imagine talking to a pretty girl. "hey there, Come over to my house on Richmond Road for a drink".
Bloody even if your house is a hole, she will be impressed.
In Mumbai: "Come over to my house for a drink, at the corner of Master Vinayak Road, there is a Paan tapri, come to the building behind it"
Khallaas, ladki bhi gayi, izzat bhi gayi.

[quote][quote=gunbir]Interesting discussion...

We are talking about automobile related products. Lets talk cars. How many countries do you know of where Suzuki is the no. 1 brand and the highest selling product. In some countries, people dont even know Suzuki makes cars.

In India however, suzuki has managed to repeatedly sell obscene numbers of cars that would barely scrape through even the most lenient of quality control or safety checks in developed countries. Indians are suckers for mass market produced, bottom of the pile, crappy products that no one else in the world wants to buy.
Sorry but I don't get the proper point.

If world doesn't buy suzuki, Indians also should not?

I remember I was just 10 years old, now I am 28, when my dad bought our first Maruti 800 for around 55,000/- bucks and Fiat we bought before that costed, if I remember rightly, around 80,000/- Seniors could correct me. Now, which is a better car between the two, obviously 800, and which is cheaper? Again 800! Other cars available are again not much to speak off, then how do i care what the world is buying.

Ok car market was liberalised later but how many besides suzuki could come out with a good small car worth the money? Santro is good and it sells. And what have the "class" Market companies offered?

Remember Peugeot anyone? Our Peugeot was giving 6km/litre and was stuck in the garrage for weeks for want of spare parts. So much for the Class! Sold it at whatever price we could.

Ford - one of the more celebrated companies of 'class' market came up with Ford Escort and touted it as what the whole world buys. and then after some time discontinued it sheepishly telling it was not very suitable for Indian conditions. My friend still rues the day he bought his escort.

hey! I don't want to make it very serious and am sorry if I offend you but my whole point is this.

If people want bread, give them bread - good or best quality one at that. Don't call them crap and s$$kers if you can and they can't afford Cake.

And one who has been giving people the best bread possible in their budgets surely deserves credit for it.

P.S. In spite of whatever Suzuki is selling its consistently number one in custome satiscation and as for Safety standards SWIFT has be found to be the best car currently in India safety norms wise. Better than many class market products.
