Way to go, Congrats! this HU can do much more than 4way active, more than it's the sound that matters. Using 4 DAC for each high, mid, midbass & sub. The sound will equal to those high end HU mentioned.
By the way what's the landing cost on it? I suppose this one is from Singapore ? It now retails at 1200$ in US.
Plan on getting one when I visit S'pore in June.
Look forward for your feedback on this.

Why not get 64gb pen drive or may be an portable HD. Like the looks not flashy at all.

Ya it does not look flashy or cheap it is quite sober looking HU. Ya I also assume that this HU is comparable with the other High HU I mentioned. Even Pioneer also say that this is there latest offer in the HU department. Here is some info from there website..

The DEX-P99RS is designed to replace (and advance the performance of) the award-winning DEX-P90RS and DEQ-P90RS Pioneer CD tuner and processor package, which is highly popular with enthusiasts.

The DEX-P99RS incorporates 32-Bit Binary Floating-Point DSP for high-precision and highspeed sound processing. The unique use of 32-bit "floating point" DSP offers significantly higher accuracy, especially a high frequencies and low signal levels. This new DSP is five times faster than the equivalent DSP used in the DEH-P800PRS or DEH-P880PRS models.

I also found the HU to be very clean and nice sounding. I found it better sounding than the HX-D2 also. Rest a short preview of the HU will be up in few weeks time.

So can we have the small review on this. What I would be interested in knowing is how effective is Auto tuning that does the TA & EQ tuning and what are the crossover points for the sub in active mode?

Congrats! The .wav files in your 32 GB drive could have been compressed to either mp3 with lame encoders or into aac formats with faac encoders freely available. You just need aac support in your Audio Head Unit.

He has bought the P99RS rather than some other high end head units so that he can play "lossless" .wav files over USB. Other comparable head units don't do this, and .mp3 or any other such lossy format is too lo-fi to fully enjoy a setup that uses something like the P99RS as the source.

Thanks LBM. Ofcourse it must have better SQ (compared to the Alpine 9835 & 9987 that I use) and have TA, XOs, etc.

BTW what does this HU cost in India/Mumbai?

You sure can rename anything

The HU is almost the double the cost here at around 85-90k that's with B&W. Yet have to check whether it's available in grey or not.
The Japanese version comes with external amp and is said to have slight better SQ over P99rs, I guess may be coz of better internals. Cost about 105,000 yen.

This is one real good HU and a nice way to spend around 80K. Saw somw extremely good reviews about the product and for the first time I saw this product featured in a mag and I though they made a typo with the price. But when I saw the features and what it was capable of, the only thing that came to my mind was

"good things come in small packages"
