CAST Bio - Kicker TC10 Sub

Critics Choice
Quote:
Kicker TC10 sealed enclosure - Enclosed Subwoofer Showdown
Enclosed Subwoofer Showdown
The 4 roads to bass nirvana!
Charlie Pastorfield

Conclusion: "Clean" is the first word that comes to mind to describe the TC10. Do you often turn the bass down on a car or home stereo system because it sounds boomy to you? If you do, a sealed enclosure like this one is an excellent choice, especially if you listen to a wide variety of music. This type of enclosure produces the type of bass you'd expect to hear from the typical home speaker — well-defined, strong, but not overpowering.

Hi Sanjay,

Excellent stuff. This seems to be a very well matched system and leaning towards SQ. Actually this is more of an Audio-Video set up. Any rear fills or screens planned as this supports 5.1? Does this head unit have Time Alignment as I don't see it mentioned anywhere.

Epic, there are JL components in the rear as well. They act as surround speakers when the source is 5.1. Else they play stereo or Pro Logic 2. The Pioneer is the center channel. And yes, SQ is the word. I auditioned the set up on Sunday along with a few others. TA is switched off at the moment if I am not mistaken.

Are you referring to the TA feature which comes with a mic for measuring/adjusting the sound level calibration/distance etc? It is not automatic but all adjustments avlbl to fiddle around with manually.

Working in Tandem

=================
The damping role, to keep the enthusiastic actors in check, is performed by a relative newcomer - unknown to many - but comes with thick recommendation. Keeps what's inside, IN, and what's outside, OUT, off the stage.

Rehearsal / In-the-Making to follow.

I have used this head unit and the 44 for many a surround setup. Nice head unit. I hope you know its not advisable to have video in the front of the car where the driver can see it, in a moving vehicle. Do be careful.

You are using 2 x Focal Solid 4 amps, right? So 1 channel of 1 of the amps is unused, I presume?
