You reply would be much appreciated.

Hello Melvyn,

Yes. You can connect all 4 speakers directly to the GT-X333.

I can indeed confirm that a 16GB SD card will work with the unit.

@fiesta - TA is a wonderful audiophile tool. It is expensive to add and no head unit at even twice this price has it.

These are made in China too. Just like everything we and everyone else produces.

1.Buy a second hand MONO amp(rs 3500 JBL 300.1) and connect it to the existing HU and power the sub with it.
2.Change the HU to the upcoming JBL X333 and connect the sub to the 2 channels of the existing amp.If I do so will I be able to control the Sub with the HU.
3.The sony AMP is rated 60 X 4W RMS and 110W peak at 4 ohms.Is the anyway that I can extract all the 220W from the rear 2 channels of the amp.If I do so will I be putting too much load on the AMP.
Or the final option is to buy the second hand mono amp for now and wait for a month or two to buy the JBL HU and the SUB
Your Ford OEM HU will not have a suwoofer level control. So if you intend to connect a second amp and suwoofer to it, the subwoofer will fade with either the front channels or rear channels. The 333 offers you subwoofer level control (BTW the 555 has a CD player the 333 does not).

@Samji: Sir do you have any idea how long before these HU's are released.First these HU's are to be released. Then I have to convince my father to accept to buy a HU which does not accept CD's(no way to arrange cash to buy the 555 HU ).
I cant stand it with my OEM HU cause the next track button is not functioning and so i can only use the random song selection mode. Also my present HU does not even accept MP3's :-(

India JBL on Facebook said they should be released next week, that was on 30 Nov'10. So anytime now. Still who better than Sam to second this info. I too had postponed the ICE installation in my car as and when I heard of JBL x333.
I thought of checking with the dealers in my area but was skeptic of getting responses like, "JBL HU??!! Since when has JBL started making HUs!"

Trust me. You'll find the head units.

A good monoblock will easily outperform a regular 2 channel amp.

Will a JBL 300.1 mono AMP do justice to a 300W SUB.It generates 200W at 4ohms is this power enough.

It seems Sam has gone to meet Sagarmatha so I will attempt an answer.

The 300.1 will work for most 12" subs at moderate levels. It is an entry leel monoblock and has it's limiations in that sense but for your needs it should be adequate.

Thanks, Sam, for the info. Sorry for the delay in replying to your post as I am in the midst of buying an I10 and the Christmas season here in Goa can get pretty hectic. I'm waiting to pair the JBL system with the I10.

Re: JBL branded HU? EDIT: GT-X555 & 333 Confirmed!

The head unit is now present on shelves. 333 has been launched first.

The 555 will follow in another 5 days.

Re: JBL branded HU? EDIT: GT-X555 & 333 Confirmed!

Sam,

That's a killer price for the GTX-333. It's bad that I missed it . I got a Pioneer 4290 installed in my Palio last month and I've never used a CD so far and might not use it at all!

I would definitely like to hear it soon and I'm sure I would end up recommending this to my friends & acquaintances.

Btw, I checked the JBL India site but couldn't find any info about these HU's. Is the site yet to be updated?
