It is not great by any means, but not that that bad from the front. Windshield is much bigger and the grill is small (when compared to Prakash et.al).

This is the front view, posted earlier.

Frontal Underrun Protection

Observed this new fitment (below the front bumper) on an Ashok Leyland 1612H chassis, its known as FUPS - Frontal Underrun Protection System. I think its part of govt. regulations. But felt that it could have been integrated with front bumber.

CNG are basically Petrol engines with a convertor which makes them very expensive. Volvo's didn't bring it initially as they may not have focussed on incity transport and now when they can, the market is already crowded.

From what I have heard, Volvo is not bringing their CNG buses into India as they are wary of the quality of CNG available here.

Also, I do not think it would be advisable to convert Volvos to CNG. They are much more complex than the ALs which are being converted. Converting Volvos will also require tampering with the body for mounting CNG cylinders on the roof.

CNG would be less susceptible to tampering than liquid fuel : not as simple as opening a tank & pouring in the adulterant liquid.

What part of the Volvo is more complex ? And if Volvo themselves do it, why should it be a problem, if they already have the technology ? Also, there is no need to mount it on the roof. Can definitely be mounted below the floor, in the luggage space area.

Busses will have the complete Bus code comming into action maybe next year, where all bus coach builders mandatory have to comply with the code. There will further be Centers of excellence which will have their design approved and will lend their design and manufacturing facilities to small scale coatch builders who cannot go on their own.
