Hi
Thanks a lot for uploading some superb footage.
The best is WDM3-honking and chugging.
Next to the steam locos,WDMs have the best chugging sound.
Unfortunately steam is out and WDMs are on few routes.
Regards

Agree the chugging from the WDG-3A and WDM-3D is awesome. Of late the KJM loco shed WDM-3A horns are poor with weird sound. The WDG3A has some nice loud horns. A couple of red devil locos are there. Will try to catch them honking and chugging.

The UBL (Hubli) and KJM (Krishnarajapuram) loco sheds are home to many EMD engines. The Alcos are on the way out from these shed. You can see a few WDM3A and WDM2 doing duty on the passengers. For the some of the expresses, the WDG 3A and WDM3A are doing duty. The long hauls are all EMD WDP4s.

Dedicating a couple of lovely songs to all the rail-heads here: :)

These are the pictures of a Wagon Tippler tipping coal wagons. Those who have industrial exposure may be familiar with this kind of equipment, especially in thermal power stations.

Cross linking from old archives. This I had posted some time back
on the non-auto image thread.

An early morning..
(Snapped with a 3MP Nokia Cell Phone Camera)

How is the wagon anchored to the base? Is it anchored or just shunted onto those tracks? Does it rest on the huge beam to its right? How fast is this process?

There are channels which hold the wheels from slipping out and yes, the wagon rests on the beam to the right. It takes around five minutes per wagon. Its capacity is ten tippings in an hour.

A nice picture there. Which station is this? Also I guess this is one of the locos in this livery from the KJM shed. I have a couple of them in this livery, guess it will be repainted to the traditional one when it goes for a major maintenance.

Thanks Krishna. This is Yelahanka on an early winter morning. This was the time, when the station was not well decked up. Now it has vastly improved. It has now foodstalls, even platforms and many other facilities.

Thanks Thoma. As I mentioned, this is Yelahanka. The best part is an early morning walk to this station and walk on the platform.
Me and my dad time our walks to be there to spot a few trains. Weekend morning many a times, we have seen Rajdhani roaring through. Kachiguda express is also on
I have seen many times.

Hi everybody
Here is a song from an old film Jagruti.
This has been voted the most patriotic song of all times.
Only steam with more of metre gauge. No more steam traction and very little of MG left in India.
Enjoy

Automated Wagon tipplers used in steel process plants or mining industries can tip 25 wagons in 30 minutes.
