That is one ugly wiper. I guess it goes well with the rest of the ugliness. I can’t wait to get one.

The Tesla Cybertruck has been spied in production guise.

The design of Tesla's long-awaited 100% electric pick-up has been leaked thanks to photographs taken inside the company's facilities.
The exterior has several changes to adapt to the standard of a series production vehicle. The new Cybertruck will hit the market as a 2023 model.

There are two elements that will quickly catch attention.
The first of these is that it already has conventional rearview mirrors.

On the other hand, and no less important, the front bumper has been modified and the relevant windshield wiper has been installed. A single wiper that is large enough to cover the huge front glass.

rumors that pointed to a final design without handles on the doors are confirmed. Tesla has opted for an alternative solution to flush handles on the door panels.

Still, I don't think the Cybertruck to be available for sale anytime before 2023 as Tesla has recently removed the Cybertruck's production date from its website.

Here is the link for that news article.

Re: Tesla pick-up truck plans confirmed EDIT: 'Cybertruck' unveiled!

This looks like an advanced prototype, but not production ready. The headlight situation is puzzling. There's no way its coming out with just DRLs. Either they'll have to create a separate module for headlights that goes at either ends or they'll most probably end up fixing them on the Bumpers

While its possible to have Very Thin headlights nowadays, that would drive up the cost a lot.

With a million people waiting for deliveries, its still in prototyping stage. The other day Toyota announced 4 years waiting for Land Cruiser and now this . This is a complete opposite to what happens in our country where product testing happens with end customers at least for initial batches.
Looks like Ford and Chevy will make merry in the short term.

The only response to these pictures is what Arnold said to the Predator. Cannot reproduce his words without running afoul of the moderators, so will just post a link to it.

It would take a lot to get past the regulators with those sharp edged front and sides. Pedestrian safety might be limited to clean cut & sheared bones only.

Re: Tesla pick-up truck plans confirmed EDIT: 'Cybertruck' unveiled!

Looks horrible, like all other Teslas

I don't really think this is a great product like all other Teslas are. I am pretty certain this will come half baked like the model Y, S, 3, and X

In the US, the federal bumper regulation standard only applies to passenger cars. They do not apply to pickup trucks. You see metal bumpers with sharpish corners winches and bull bars all over. The bumper standards do not apply as it may hamper the use of the truck at loading zones, and during off road use. I can very well mount something like this on my tiny truck, if I desire to do so.

Looks wise, it's ugly. Has no appeal to it, is it even for real? I don't think it will roll out in huge nos. Maybe a few here and there. Not sure Tesla is serious about mass producing this one.

Tesla has some 12 lakh reservations for the cybertruck. I do not like trucks, this looks ugly to me, but Americans like big things hence the craze.

Re: Tesla pick-up truck plans confirmed EDIT: 'Cybertruck' unveiled!

The wait for Tesla's Cybertruck gets longer!

Quote:
Since Elon has announced that Tesla will not release any new models in the year 2022. All these people who spent money reserving one will just have to wait even longer. Or get something with a real steering wheel, like a Ford F-150 EV, Rivian, or the Silverado EV.

That announcement also means no Semi this year either. (reservations for the Semi were $20 000!) Even though companies like Walmart and many others will have to wait. Or lose all that money.

But it is all very logical. Tesla has tons of orders for Model Y and 3 to fill out. These cars do need to be built and the new factories in Texas and Germany will help. But there is no room for anything else for a while. The smaller "Compact Tesla" is also on hold. That thing will be on the back burner for a long time. A big market in Europe that could be lost to many other manufacturers soon.
