The Auto-Image thread

Well, all i can say is im just a novice and this picture is taken in my building

I kinda liked it, so i put it up. Anyways, i can only learn from your knowledge

Quick question though - Is it ok if i put up the pictures i seem to like or should i only put up when im sure that ull will compliment? A friendly question, am not looking for any trouble.

Your question is good enough to raise eyebrows..

Get one thing clear here in this thread. If you like shooting cars then it'll be seen in your effort. Read post from early part of this thread to get a clarity.

Shooting cars is a process which start with one important factor: YOUR INTEREST

May i say - I am VERY interested. I guess im just not that good at it as of now.
Well, ill take your answer as a Yes. Ill post the pictures i like and then regarding the feedback ill learn what is wrong and how to improve.
Perhaps someday ill shoot an awesome picture and then ill know that i have arrived

As a learner in taking good car pics am keen to take away some critical views from the far-more experienced guru's here. As the mood seems set right for this, here is what i have come up with & would appreciate views for all future attempts.

The first step would be to learn photography itself. Understand exposure (F-stops, shutter, ISO, White balance) and the effect of each parameter to your image. Then understand your equipment, the weaknesses and strengths of it. Learn composition rules, practice, practice and practice. Then learn to break the rules. Now you are ready to take up specializations like auto photography. There is no short cut, really.

It is possible to accidental take good photographs without doing any of the above, but there will not be any consistency.

Am currently a Sony W 55 user. Looking to finally upgrade to a much better P&S camera. Have zero'ed in on Fuji8100 or Olympus 560 to start getting serious about my latent passion. Any suggestions here,please.

Indeed doing precisely that and take more serious interest & involvement - hence the basic query.

Thanks, I did recompose it. Here is the original.

Although the entire background is lovely, the car was occupying a small footprint. Therefore the focus was on the scenery rather than the car. So I recomposed it to bring the focus back on the car and put the scenery on the background. There are other ways to re-compose it, this was one attempt.

This is truly an amazing job. i envy your vision to see it from a totally different angle. Apart from the background, composition & the picture quality, the angle of the shot itself is changed. I do remember that you suggested to redo the shot after keeping the camera Low & moving bit closer, with the same lighting. This would have been the result.

Rudra, Thank you very much for sparing some of your time for this.
