Congratulations ! He is defenitely cuter than you :)! So, now you have a subject for your D90 anytime you want. I have a girl 3 months elder to him, she is already over-excited to see the D60 around. I have no clue how they recognise gadgets at this age !!! Be careful not to use the flash until he is atleast 1 year old ! :thumbs up

that's very alert and handsome for a week old, congrats.
I have read that light flash is nothing compared to normal daylight, but because our aperture is open to allow more light when in dark, sudden burst of light can cause momentary discomfort. still, I won't lose my sleep over it.
my son got used to anticipating the flash and started making faces as soon as i focus the camera on him.

Got a bit more sharper image today. Hand-held shot, 100% cropped and resized a bit. Waiting for the full moon!!

@sjkoova
Congrats!
@clevermax
Nice one.
Why so sad?
Regards,
TG.

Thanks to all for your wishes
I did not use the flash and no plans to use it for few more months.
And time for sleepless nights!

Scientifically, its advised not to expose a kid to artificial high power flashing light, becauce their retina is too tender to tolerate that. Why to talk about an infant, 5 years back my junior collegue who was 25 years lost his partial single-eye sight because his college friends gave him a surprise in the midnight by barging into his room flashing cameras on his birthday. And everyone knows eyes are the most sensitive portion to light, hope I am clear.

Thanks shajufx.
Here goes the exif:
1/500s, ISO100, f/4, Focal length 315mm full frame equiv.
The key to getting a moon shot like this is to use such high shutter speeds. One may think that it is night and slow shutter speeds should be used. In that case, the moon will appear completely blown out in the image.
All,
Great work. I have been off this thread since I am on vacation (and running a slow GPRS connection :( ). The fun part is I got my hands on a nifty fifty and have done some portraits (which I have never tried much!). So here are two contributions from my sidre to this thread. C&C please.
@Hellwrath: Nice portraits. I'd use a circular polarizer to make their hair look darker in the first shot.
Thanks clevermax. I still gotta buy a CPL, next on my "buy list" along with a telephoto lens :).
Chinese fishing nets :D
