It was a long exposure, hence the trails...I am trying to experiment with these whenever I could, I loved the images TSK had posted before and ever since its been something I think of often though not yet realised it well.

The motion blur is looking fantastic. I like that blue colors also. Hope you were not driving at the same time. :)

Here's another one - beating the heat with a cool shower. Heard from her caretaker that her mood is not that good lately, the reason why she's allowed to cool down like this so frequently.

Wow, excellent work! Did you add the blur in post? Or is it the natural DOF at work?

Thanks TG, Yea that's PP'ed blur. I forgot to take my 70-210 lens and I had to shoot these with the kit 18-70. So the original shot was having a very deep DOF. I blurred the background a little bit manually to decrease the DOF to zoom lens standards :D. I know it's not perfect, But two advantages - reduced file size and more emphasized subject.

My friend seems to have disowned his D700, he hasnt asked it back yet, and so I was up at the Twins Peaks, San Francisco today morning...Posting a Panorama. And no, the colors are not photoshoped, all I did was adjust some curves.

He he... Mukul you have very good photo observation skills I must say. I applied 'Lens blur' and masked the subject and nearby portions from it, but the masking isn't perfect. It was a 5 minutes job.

Does your friend know every DSLR has a line time? (The number of clicks is limited before the shutter dies) :D

Good colors in the picture! I've always liked the way you process the sky.

I'll make a guess how you do that...
Increase the canvas size and apply Sperize effect to make a wide-angle look, take only the sky portion from that and blend that in the original image - something similar?

I think it's just the wide angle. The perspective is so because of the full frame rather than post processing. Not too sure though. Anyways, here are the shots that I got from Bannerghatta yesterday. It is too darn difficult to do macros/close-ups. Managing the magnification with the DOF drove me crazy and most of my photographs ended up having part of the butterfly's body out of focus :(. There are a couple of tiger pictures and a bison as well that I got off the grand safari.

Thanks, i really appreciate that. Part of being into Visual effects is developing your eye, so i guess I am in the right direction then..hehe.

Well, I gues he does know. He bought that camera after going through some shots I had taken with it, and a while ago he remarked that he is not using it as much as he would like to, and he would only be glad if it's put to some use. So when I sold mine, and was restlessly pushing days, I just asked him if he could give it to me for a few days. He hasnt asked it back despite me asking about when i should return it, and its been almost a month now. I love my friends! :)

And you got it all wrong this time :) That is a Panoramic shot of three photographs taken with the 24-24 f2.8, SO the Wide angle look..is because it is wide angle! No sphearize used. Apart from mild curves correction and stitching of panorama in PS, nothing else is done on that image.


I wish you could have composed it with the subject a bit to the left, in accordance to the one third rule..it would have transformed your shot, its still good though, I liked it.

What time where you up there? Oh yeah cold it is, it was like 5 degress, and I was wearing 4 layers of clothing and was up the hill at 6 :30 AM. Operating the camera with gloves is such a pain! phew! Here is a long exposure( i dont htink its long by your standards though), I love the blur clouds give when they move over the sky, away from the lens..

This was in February, the day you had to finish your homework and couldn't come to SFO.
I was up there around 7PM, it was raining, and I think around 8-9 degree C
I took some more shots, some at the Golden gate bridge, but decided to pack up when the camera got almost drenched!
