ok.. so here I come to the water level.

From my recent trip to weltenburg river.

Looks like some vulture.
Shot it near Manali
It was massive. Almost as big as an ostrich.

Good going pawan, hope you stay on the ground now :) You badly require a 400mm lens LOL

Tanveer is it over sharpened ? Its a vulture from the looks.

This shot reminded me of my own status in photography, so I prefer to title it as
"Getting to the top requires a lot of hard work".

Love your shot. I could never manage macro
As for my shot, I just did little USM(0.2). Thats about it. The shot was pretty sharp!

Did this yesterday. What do you guys think? Is it ok?

Captured the scene on a Canon EOS 1000D and then captured the same using Nikon D90. Would love to hear from you guys.

I know what you are asking him. Wicked minds think alike :)
Nice dragon fly shots !

To all those guys who're experts in capturing the insects at so close, I've one question.

How do you guys do that? Are you using some zoom lens to shoot those insects from a certain distance? But then how do they appear like macro as if shot from so close?

I've a S5IS, it supports a 0 cm macro, but I'm sure I cannot take such close shots or is it even possible.

Appreciate some help in understanding. Tks.

You need to have something called patience and luck :D

I use a humble 18-55 lens that came with my D5000.

@ shajufx nice shot,

This is a lap-held shot at Manali with a 70-300mm lens.

I tried hit and try for the focus, but needed some advice for focussing on the moon; since nothing shows on the viewfinder/screen, how do you guys focus? Same question arises for star trails.

What I do is switch to manual focus (I use a tripod), and when the in focus confirmation dot is there, i leave the camera. Then I expose using a ML3 remote. No shake and nice focus that way.
