@Jk: It does have a yellowish tint because I shot at higher K (warmer tone)
@Ketan: You are absolutely right. But you are trying to manipulate the shutter speed to get the right exposure. Its like y (exposure)=mx(shutter speed). So whatever we do with the shutter speed or the aperture we are trying to get the right exposure. In this case increased exposure of the media gave the flowing water the milky effect. Man, now even I am confused:uncontrol

Those pictures made me nostalgic. Yes, it brought me the memories of our trip to Ervaikulam National Park, Munnar. ( I guess these pictures were shot from there)

I liked the second picture. But, the green colored umbrella on the LHS looks a bit distracting to my eyes.

@fatboy: Nice tiger photos. I visited Tadoba 3 times but never encounter with tiger.

Here is the example of milky water with high aparture and low shutter speed.

Captured at home yesterday night. Nothing special about this photo, just that only light source was lamp next to idol. EXIF: f/8, 10 sec, ISO 400.

This pic wasn't taken by me.Posting it coz I was impressed by Canon EOS550D,55-250 lens.

Exif: 1/15s; F4;@ 55mm; ISO 3200 :).

The pic isnt sharp as it was handheld and photograher is very new to DSLR ( actually he bought a D5000 kit and sold it as Canon had extra pixels; all this happened in 3 weeks :D )

Its beautiful Pawan, I tried doing some experiments on my prosumer cam but found it very challenging to arrive at the correct combination. Sharing a sample to show what happened, tripod was not there to support a steady shot. Let me try this weekend when I visit Masinagudi.

@jacs: Seem like the light is more then expected in your case. What you can do is, put little darker glass in front of the lens, you can use sunglass, doing so you can reduce the light coming into your camera and you can descrease the shutter speed. As well put your cam either on tripod or somewhere at fix place, no handheld for long exposure shot and use the timer to shoot and you will get what you want.

Wonderful where is this shot ? Is this with ND filter or without ?

In India generally such shot wash out due to bright sun and need ND8 + CPL , Or ND8 + ND4 Stacked together. It might still be possible without filter is it is cloudy .

Yep, a huge WOW from my side too. I guess most of our photographic journey can be documented from this thread alone :) from bad to worse to little better. I still remember the first photo I had posted here and it was a total mess up of exposure and the first critique was by Samurai san. Thanks to him, exposure was the first thing I started learning and it's been 2 years and still haven't gotten anywhere with it :D.

How did you nail those exposures on the sea horses? From what I know, it must have been pretty dark, right?

Anyways, since I haven't posted much recently, here's a photo from a recent trip. It reminds me of the "Malgudi days".

Is it that new Mallu movie hero from God's own country ? (sexy eyes though). I will request Mammootty and Mohanlal to file their resignation :).

You are lucky and on the fast track, I dont remember a comment even on my 50th post here :). What you said is very true, this thread is a record of where we started and how we are improving, atleast in my case. Please process all those RAW in your hard drive, its not fair to post one out of 500. I remember this shot at the spot, but was not even lifting my cam to shoot, thinking its not worth. But this post has changed my view.
