Thank you. I have to thank my wife who took over the responsibility of encouraging him to get going. So that I could take photographs.

Mr.Bernard Solomon 2011, you are rocking these pages, I must say. Lovely images. I am yet to get that 'ride alone' image of my son.

Thanks you Shaju Joseph. :D But I still have a lot to learn.

Really amazing shot!

Apart from the question asked on the lens, I would also like to know how close were you to the ground when you clicked this. :)

I was on a very low boat..say 1 feet above the water level

Today was a day we had a short spell of rain in the morning post which the haze that blankets most of Mumbai cleared out. There was harsh sunlight but the sky was blue and a cool breeze blew. I could not resist taking the camera and heading out. I climbed to the roof of the building where my office is and saw these chairs lying out in the sun. The colours were faded out by the harsh sunlight. Somehow, I have never seen the red colour chairs in the cubicles below and hence decided to expose those. The rest of the chairs are a boring blue colour.

I also took pcitures of two courting pigeons - three shots in a row. The male looked like a Salman Khan romancing his heroine. And she acted coy throughout. Heh! I liked her stance in the last shot and decided to stitch the sequence into one photograph.

JPEGs straight out of the camera. Processed in GIMP.

@clevermax
Thank you!

Veeresh, welcome back, in fact come back to India, we miss all the fun ! I have been trying to replace your presence with someone all these 6 months, but not yet successful ! No kidding.

I have gone to Hebbal lake atleast a dozen times, but each visit gives something new or different !

Shaju,
Thanks! :). Go with Shaji, he's an awesome friend/partner to shoot with. Lots to learn from him, especially, light and exposure.

About the photograph, I am not sure I like the crop. The negative space is a tad more, try going for lesser negative space, it will look really good.

Thank you so much, will obey your orders and accept him as my Guru :) About the negative space, I was only trying a different perspective to the lotus than thinking about the technicalities. Still need to learn the space rules.

Pramod, try to post the best from the lot than too many of the same subject. I use mobile browser every now and then, it becomes a pain to go through the page. I am sure there are too many mobile web users on the go too.

Another from the same series !

Beautiful portraits. I think you are the king of candids and portraits here.

@Shaju:
Love the colour gradation. I am assuming that this at dawn.

What's with all the moon shots? :)

Yea it looks like sunrise to me :D
Moon shot part, sorry I did not get you. I am not against the moon, but half a dozen similar shots.

Its not about the Moon, but lets atleast chose the best in-focus, sharp, various angle images before posting, atleast it can avoid a clutter for mobile users (even PC users). For group uploads we have Flickr, Facebook, picasa and many such places. Here we are trying to learn from each other. Hope members can cooperate. When I look at certain images in Flickr, I feel that I have not even started learning.

I have some similar shots for dawn. I have not seen a similar colour gradation at sunset.

I was referring to the rash of moon shots that keep coming up. And some of those are horribly blurred. No offense meant, but I think that we should be posting our best attempt and then take the criticism/praise that comes with it.

With you on the yet to learn a lot bit. Flickr has some of the most awesome talent on show. And most of these guys are not even professionals.

A very intriguing flower I must say..

@gd1418:

Awesome shot! I guess this flower was growing on the wayside. Have seen this flower before.

@clevermax: The first photo of the light house is fantastic! Infact I was there recently at Kovalam trying to capture something like this and just returned disheartened! If you had your DSRL, how would you have preferred to capture that light beam from the light house? Will look forward to your DSLR shot of the same soon!
