Re: The Official non-auto Image thread

@ Dry Ice – Nice lake shots. Are these with wide angle prime?
@ bluevolt –Delhi looks transformed with clean and green roads. Share some more cityscapes.

Few more landscapes

Curious to know the Exif of that B&W shot. If its shot in RAW you can get back the original color what you saw.
Am fed up waiting for the Big Stopper. Thought of creating my own.

Tried searching online to correct it in PP. Most people advise creating a custom white balance profile in the cam itself and then fine tuning it in PP, coz often its very difficult to do away with the green cast totally.

However, if you have any material/links which can help me do it in PP, please let me know, would be great!

I am just an average PP guy, trying to get the best straight out of camera so that I dont have to sit on the PC. Its impractical for me to process 100s of images after each outdoor experiments.

I have started using an ND filter very recently. Few tips I read from here and there: Always shoot in RAW, full Manual mode specially WB. White Balance and Metering can go weird with the filter ON, so figure out those things before using it. Majority of 'long exposure' gurus suggest trial & error method as each lighting situation varies with the filters involved. If a 1 minute exposure does not produce a pleasing result, go for 2 minutes

Long exposures in color looks absolutely stunning and dreamy !

Delhi has changed a lot in last few years. The CWG last year is mainly responsible for this change. I will share few more cityscapes very soon.

Yup, I always shoot in RAW, unless its the casual family/friends shots. About white balance, discovered that first hand, now am a lot more careful. Will try to get the custom white balance right so as to get these in color. As you said, long exposures in color look splendid!

MV Wisdom, a 150m long cargo vessel ran aground at the famous Juhu beach, Bombay. After about a month and multiple unsuccessful attempts, she was finally tugged back into the sea on the 2nd of July, 2011. She was enroute to the ship breaking yard in Alang, Gujrat.

Kerala is God's own country by all means, except the fact that all its good people are living out of state for obvious reasons , a cousin of mine was doing a road trip somewhere deep in Ireland and found a Mallu running his 'Coolbar' (chilled fruit juices, tea etc.) in the winter !!

Re: The Official non-auto Image thread

Neil Island is 25 miles North East of Port Blair in Andaman Sea.
Daily ferries fetch you up there in 90 min. Stay options include shacks (Rs 400- Rs 1000) and air conditioned rooms in Govt run Hawa Bill guest house (Rs 800-1500).
Cycling is the best option to get around the Island although cars can be hired for Rs 600-800 for a day.
Best time to visit is Jan to Mar although fair weather can be expected round the year with occasional bad spells during NE monsoon.

@Dry ice
Great shot!

Had a chaotic night yesterday...neighbor's house caught fire and there were cops, fire engines and smoke n water everywhere. thankfully no one was hurt thought the house was damaged badly inside.
