@TG - First reflection shot is lovely. Loved the first click too, brought the old Archies days to mind :D.

Yup honest comments(my bad)
Here is the picture with center in focus

Hmm, it's a pretty good start. One thing I try to follow is to fill the frame with the flower or make it an interesting composition. The problem is that there are so many photographs of flowers that you'll have to work really hard to get an interesting composition. The person I admire a lot is Image (online ID) and try to learn as much as I can from his compositions:
Ramamohan Pai's Photo Galleries at pbase.com

Do check his work out, it will give you an idea. Also, check the link given by TG.

Thanks! Yep, I think a fast macro lens should be good to shoot fish. This was just a shot with whatever I had, do check out Hayath's work (Fish - a set on Flickr). He has been shooting a lot of fishes off late. It's pretty challenging IMO.

Please post your valuable responses here

I think that thread has been deleted. Anyway, I think you started a thread on JJMPF too and you got some funny replies? :P. I'd strongly suggest that you learn basic color and contrast correction using Adobe camera RAW, levels and curves. Then, do check Nik suite. I love their filters, they make my photos really pop at times.

I shot this a while back (the day we had snow), but not satisfied with composition and processing. What do you guys think?

Old Archies days? Damn I never read Archies!

@hellwrath
I like the diagonal there in your shot.

@TG - I was refering to the greeting cards from Archies, not the comic.

Here's one honeybee shot during Lalbagh flower show 2012.

Thank you Hellwrath and Torqueguru for the useful links :)

I would say for such shots one would need a macro lens for close focussing, i think this is not possible with kit lens.
What say guys ?

Why the tape on the logos and stuff?

@Jacs
How stupid of me!

@Mohit
I dont like to draw unnecessary attention while shooting street images, taping up glaring logos, keeps the camera low key and less conspicuous.

Try increasing the f value and keep it between 9-11. Reduce the ISO to 100. Play around with the shutter speed till you get it right. And I think you are getting a shake. Place the camera on a tripod or hold yourself stable against a wall, if you do not have a tripod. Finally, make sure that the IS/VR is turned on for your lens. Hope this helps.

This is an attempt from a new learner . Any feedback would be highly appreciated. This is at the Konark Temple Odisha.
