Re: The Official non-auto Image thread

So many poster material in this thread. I love to stare endlessly at the scenic ones.

But above all, my accolades to these two snap, from another thread, that gave me a different perspective of what I eat; on how intricate things are. My candidate for the most valued snaps. Allow me to copy it on to this thread, if it is not already.

Been to Agra last week and got a chance to capture the Taj Mahal just before it rained pretty heavily.

Lovely photos of the Taj. I have visited many times, but before I took up a camera. Perhaps a fullmoon visit is due

Re: The Official non-auto Image thread

I was changing bus routes to get home last weekend. After I got down from the bus, I saw this spectacular sunset from the elevated road. It was about 10PM and next bus was to arrive in 4 minutes at the bus stop you see in the picture. Didn't feel like missing this view. So opened the camera bag, changed the lens, and quickly snapped it!

if you darken the sky, you should darken it's reflection too.

Thanks for the suggestion. Actually I used one of the pre-set settings in Photomatix pro. O.T: I tried picturenaut, luminance hdr and then photomatix; and this was what I found the easiest to work with. If there are any other good hdr softwares in open source side, do let me know. I also have started using GIMP for post processing.

Nice shot. But the watermark - running across the image detracts from the image, IMO.

I use GIMP too -mostly for resizing, watermark, occasional noise reduction etc.
