Thanks Nilanjan. I have been silently witnessing all your snaps of your drives and TLs. Just amazing. I think a cropped body makes a much sense for you to upgrade to. I mostly take to general photography with landscapes. So I am thinking the FF way. I have not headed out with camera of late. But just got in a 100mm macro and am learning the aspects related to the same. (Focus stacking being one them) ![]() |

I agree with Nilanjan. Are you trying to experiment with manual mode or just shoot in manual mode always? This one didn't really turn out good. Nothing seems to be in focus (which has nothing to do with manual mode) and there is lot of noise. What do you mean when you say manual mode? Different people have different definitions of manual mode. Some people consider Aperture and Shutter Priority modes as manual modes too because you control one aspect of exposure. If you list down what you were trying to achieve by shooting in manual mode, it would help. EDIT: I like the 3rd one. There is a hint of panning in that. Would've been perfect if there was some interesting background with panning effect. Last edited by Gandhi : 29th June 2013 at 23:57. |

Distinguished - BHPian ![]() | ![]() I searched the forum. There are several threads on cameras, photography, photoshop etc. But I found virtually nothing on HDR photography. I've been looking into it a bit. Thought I wanted to give it a bit of a try. Went to Amritsar the other day and got my camera set up to take 7 frames, bracketed with 0.5 stop. Downloaded the most basic version of photomatix . Turns out it can only handle a maximum of 5 frames, so I know that for the future! You can download a free trial version, but it'll show a watermark across your pictures. I'd be interested to hear from other members, how they use HDR, what to look for, what software to use, etc Anyway, here goes, my first HDR shots ever, Golden Temple: Jeroen |

Anyway, this stirred up the urge to process an HDR - so just made an HDR from three shots taken yesterday. This is where I live in Aalsmeer, Holland. ![]() I did not use bracketing modes. Just clicked them individually in manual mode. Processed using Photomatix. Camera model : Sony A35, 18-55 kit lens. Didn't use RAW files, but Jpegs. EXIF: 1/10s, 1/15s, 1/50s, ISO400, 22mm. No tripod but held the camera on a roadside pole. Last edited by clevermax : 1st July 2013 at 01:26. | |

Nice to see someone living in my home country! I grew up "next door", in Amstelveen and know Aalsmeer quite well. Especially the "Westeinder plassen". Used to own and race several dinghies! (Stern, OK and I used to crew on a Vrijheid) Jeroen |
