This Samsung Note 2 phone camera seems to be awesome. I have seen very good pictures coming from note 2's compared to other phones (leaving out iPhone as I have no comparison). Even the Nexus clicked pictures were inferior compared to the note 2's pictures IMO. Do you feel so too?

Has anyone here sold anything from 500px?

And, if you have put up your photos on store, what payment options have you opted for? Paypal?

How would taxation work?

This depends on whether you are transferring the ownership or only giving the rights to use it. The former will treated as service (service tax), the latter will be royalty. Royalty is will be treated similar to software licencing, which means both VAT and Service tax will apply in Karnataka.

What about exports. I do not think there is a VAT on exports, i.e. if the buyer is foreign. So if paypal USA pays you there is not tax
Similarly for service tax too, and unless you sell above 10L a year, there is no service tax too.

Well, for digital downloads, the buyer gets the rights to use it. But for a print sale, the buyer does get to own the end output right? Not sure, need to do some research on photo sale terms and conditions, clauses etc. Never thought of this earlier.

That's good to know. Will see what are the terms for Indians using Paypal and receiving money from foreign buyers through Paypal.

If the buyer is outside of India, you don't have to worry about VAT or ST. You have to pay income tax though.
