Veeresh, yeah ToeHold seems to be promising specially with ownership and guidance of Jayanth and Sudhir [and 2 other learned gents]. I saw your testimonial on BPC homepage too ;)
I'd love to be a part of African photo tour too, but yeah, far in the future, not immediately.

What I have heard and noted in the workshop takes atleast 6 months to practice in the field as I am still a learner. Shaju, I agree. I've been wanting to join this course since March '10, but something kept coming in the way, every month. I've finally got a good cam now and also managed to register for this month's batch [19th/20th].
Hoping to learn a great deal and practice over the coming months, so I can possibly improve my skills to that of a good photographer. :)

Ajay, I think there are more than 1000 guys in Bangalore in the same name ! By the way, HW attended workshop conducted by Kalyan Varma if my understanding is correct.
Today I'm going to add the AF-S NIKKOR 24-70mm f/2.8G ED in my kit. It is costing 81k in the grey.
24~70 
Will be bidding good-bye to the AF Zoom-Nikkor 35-70mm f/3.3-4.5 that came with my F-801 in 1988.
35~70 
And also will be going the AF-S Zoom-Nikkor ED 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6G IF DX
18~135 
Both these lenses served me well all these years without any complaint. Sincy I shall be upgrading sometime in future to a FX camera, I thought that I as well enhance my kit with FX lenses and rather not have DX lens. Though the 35~70 is a FX lens, but is not fast and employs the screw drive AF system, which is noisy..
Now my kit would consist of D300, 70~300 & the 24~70.

Which is the better workshop? One by Kalyan or one by Sudhir and Team? Any idea?

Well thats the premium you pay for the best glass. :)
An old saying - if you pay peanuts, you get monkeys. Good lenses, and especially Nikkor, cost a bomb.
Just to give you an idea:
14~24 F/2.8 - 83K
70~200 F/2.8 - 1.10L
The second one is in my radar. Sometime, conditions permitting, I shall exchange my 70~300 for the 70~200...

Both trainers might have a fan-club following religiously, so I have no clue about which one is better. I have gone for Jayanth's workshop and it covered everything what I wanted to know about. I personally hate the idea of going to the field on a training day wasting over 3 to 4 hours instead of learning more theory in that time and practice it by self for the coming months.

GD, congrats on the 24-70, its a PRO workhorse everyone dreams to own coupled with the 70-200.

Good thing about great lenses is that they don't depreciate much. In fact, they might even appreciate, especially Niikon lenses (Nikon is notorious for having supply problems). I am lusting after 24/1.4 :D

I was at Jayesh's on saturday and I kinda helped a person make his choice between D90 and 550D. He ended up buying a D90+18-105VR+50mm f1.8+8 GB Extreme III for 60k (with warranty). The D90 with 18-105 was quote for about 51k (with warranty). And I ended up buying another sonia receiver, Hoya CPL, softbox, flash bracket and an optical receiver. Sigh.
