Ive been using the Mcafee Internet Security trial version that came bundled with my Acer netbook & also renewed the subscription online when the trial version expired recently.

I must say, the online renewal was very convenient & i paid for it online through my credit card. It was completed in 5 minutes !

it does not seem to slow down the system at all during regular use. Only during the scheduled scans, there is a perceptible hanging & slowing down.

I also suggest Mcafee Internet Security 2011 which came with my laptop with 15 months subscription. It is working perfectly fine and I don't find my laptop working slow in any respect. Even it is very good in catching viruses.

I am using Quick heal antivirus in my system.The problem I am facing is thou my hard drive has enough space it shows as drive is full and after deleating temp still there is not showing memory any help?

I am using Norton anti-virus 2011 in my desktop and Microsoft security essentials in my laptop. Norton anti-virus 2011 works very well, it doesn't slow down the system at all. Microsoft security essentials, being a freeware also works well up to expectations.

Been using AVG Free Edition last couple of years. Its gets the job done quite effectively too.

Forced to work with Windows Vista Business with SP2 and hence use Microsoft Essentials AntiVirus pack (Free, yet licensed, gets updated)

In our office we chose to use McAfee Corporate edition with yearly subscription

Just took a weird hit from a virus.
It threw up a window while I was watching a youtube video. System scan in progress. So many viruses found. My systray also got an icon with this antivirus thingie.

I was unable to open even the task manager as a "its infected" window would pop up.

Luckily my McAfee was able to start and run a scan.
It found this virus as FakeAlert type and dfmnxmcsjmo.exe was the name.
As soon as it was detected and deleted. Laptop returned to normal.

Thank God! I have suffered through this before.

My Bitdefender 2010 is expiring in 2 weeks time. It did a decent job. But surprisingly I did not find it available now. In any case, I was planning for a chnage.

Any suggestion for new anti virus? Primarily for internet but I want total protection. And of course, It should not slow down the PC.

I am inclined to Norton Antivirus 2011 but it used to slow down PCs few years back not sure how it works now. Unfortunately my options are also very limited here. So far I could find only Norton, Kaspersky and ESET.

Stay away from BitDefender, bought it a montha back and the damn thing all of a sudden stopped updating! have logged 2 complaints so far but have got just a automated response, seems like customer care does not exist or are they closing down? got the indian customer care number from the hardware guy but its not working!

I am using Norton 360 on my (very low end) desktop and my laptop. It is not heavy on the system and I have not had any issues till date.

Mac Afee, I use it for 3 system, i am using from 2 years, not a single virus passed through.

Guys bought Norton Antivirus 2011 for my Lenovo Laptop running Windows 7. I have switched from Bitdefender. So, far the Norton is working good.

I have been using Kaspersky Internet Security Genuine Version for the past for the Past 4 Years and I have Never been affected with a virus till now . The firewall is great and the adblocker is a boon too ! Although it uses a lot of system Resources at times, but a little bit of googling around for how to tweak the settings has brought down the amount of System Usage. Never had to format my Windows 7 which I got preloaded with my laptop in more than a year. Together with TuneUp utilities Genuine + Kaspersky Internet Security Genuine is the best way of keeping your computer healthy and safe from all those virus's spyware's and errors ! I Highly Recommend you guys try out both these softwares.
