OK OK another gfx card query.

Another friend of mine is thinking to upgrade his gfx to play Test drive unlimited.
He currently has 128 MB Nvidia card. His budget is around 4k. Some one suggested him to get 6600 256 MB Nvidia card and he will be able to play the test drive at ok ok settings.

Now i want to know which card can he get in that budget ???

7300GT around 4.2 to 4.5K.Get the BIG branded one.these are rebranded Galaxy cards, they do make brilliant 7300GT cards.

also if budget can be extended 8500GT at 5.5-5.8K is a good future buy.testdrive unlimited is a very graphics heavy game, also there are not many graphics adjustments to increase performance, because it is not ported properly from console to PC.

you can get a 7300GS but then Test drive unlimited wont work well.he should get a 7300GT at 4.2K.200-300 Rs is worth it.

The only things that havent changed on my Home PC since I bought it 5 years back is its case! Everything was changed later, including motherboard, smps, chip, HDD, DVD drive, monitor and even UPS. I dont use it so much nowadays as my wife and daughter is hooked on to it most of the time. I will have to be content with my laptop mostly.

If I remember correctly, the PC has 250GB + 80GB HDD, Intel Core Duo processor, 1.5 GB RAM, 19' LCD monitor and Vista/RHL running on two partitions.

K8V MX is a AGP board IIRC. Unfortunately getting decent AGP cards has become a rarity. You can still get Nvidia Geforce 7 series cards though.Depends on your budget really.

I would suggest to go for 8600GT it is a very good VFM card...it will cost you like 8k and the performance is quite good or you can go for 8500GT but it is not like 8600GT in performance.....and both the card are DX10....

Dear LBM,

he has clearly mentioned that max 5k, and not for high end gaming so i dont think he need directx10.

K8V-MX is an AGP board. 8600/8500GT doesnt exist in AGP. Your best option is to get a DX9 ATI X1600 Pro.
