What Apps are installed on your smartphone?

All put together, I have about 50 plus apps installed on my iPhone 6+ but do use about a dozen every day, Team BHP included. One of the interesting apps for me is Quora where I have subscribed to about a hundred topics. What is your experience?

Re: What Apps are installed on your smartphone?

I'm not one of those who installs Apps for the heck of it. Am very selective about the stuff I install on my phone. My favourites are:

Team-BHP App (although I prefer the smartphone skin now). For any website, I prefer to access it via Chrome only (vis a vis a dedicated app). Ditto for Facebook.

Truecaller

iSyncR (sync between my laptop iTunes & Android)

Rocket Player (the best music player out there)

Amazon Kindle

Gravity Screen. No need to press the power button every time you want to access the phone

CCTV App (home security)

Zomato. Because we love trying out new places

This is over and above other essentials like Gmail, Uber, Google Maps etc.

Re: What Apps are installed on your smartphone?

While I used to use many apps back when I got my iPhone 4 in 2010, today I prefer to use as few apps as possible (less is more sort of thing). One of the apps that I specifically use for managing my fuel and maintenance costs is Fuelio (Android). It follows Google's material design, gives graphs and charts on my maintenance and fuel expenses and It even backs up to Dropbox and GDrive as a .csv file. Another app I cant live without is Keepass2Android which can open Keepass2 databases. Keepass is an opensource password manager and password generator that makes remembering passwords a thing of the past.

Re: What Apps are installed on your smartphone?

Do a search for the name in Google Playstore to download the app.

1) Carwale & OLX: For used cars "window shopping"

2) Speedometer GPS: For checking the current speed of train/bus if I ever happen to travel in one.

3) Flashlight: Turns your phone into a powerful torch (switches ON the "flash" and keeps it ON)

4) TaxiForSure, OlaCabs & Uber

5) Truecaller

6) Google Drive: For accessing my work files.

One of the funniest app I ever downloaded was a "MIRROR" app. It simply switches ON your phone's front facing camera

Re: What Apps are installed on your smartphone?

I'm a pc guy and feel at ease with the bigger screen of my laptop compared to my smartphone. But when i use my phone for apps, it'd normally be the following ones -

1. Whatsapp
2. Facebook
3. Gmail
4. asphalt 8 airborne
5. 9gag

Sometimes subway surfers or Hill climb racing.

Oh, and i almost forgot - daily check on flipkart, snapdeal, amazon and infibeam for online shopping deals

4. Truecaller
5. Mail Apps (for Official and Personal)

Need based

4. Amazon Kindle
5. Decibel Meter
6. Here Drive/Maps
7. Maruti Care
8. Facebook

Re: What Apps are installed on your smartphone?

Here are some apps worth mentioning
1) Greenify
The best battery saver. It hibernates apps which continously run in the back preventing them from using precious battery. It works automatically for rooted phone but is great for unrooted ones too.
2) In shorts
A great news app, shows news articles in less than 60 words.

Re: What Apps are installed on your smartphone?

Though I use 35 to 40 Apps on my MotoX, my most frequently used ones are:

WhatsApp
Facebook
Twitter

Frequently used Apps are:

Expense Manager
ColorNote
Zomato
Merriam-Webster Dictionary

Other Apps are much less frequently used.

These are few unique apps which I use(other than aggregators apps like ola, flip kart, zomato, utility apps etc) in my iPhone 5.

Expensify: you can track your daily expenses, never to mention I do use it for my petrol bills.

My Baby: it's for the guys out having an infant or toddlers.

File Manager: to simply manage your files

Quora: Simply read on when you have time.

Wow! Great thread.

Here are the apps that I use on my Moto G 2nd Gen.

Team-BHP: Undoubtedly the most-used app on my phone. I am one of those people who still prefer the app over the skin. But I must admit the skin is very fast and light too.

Truecaller: For the obvious reasons plus because the Moto's default dialer app is not good.

WhatsApp: --

Gmail: Can anyone suggest a better email app?

Amazon Kindle: I have a vast Kindle library.

Greenify: One of the best apps out there. Works like a charm.

BlackPlayer: A cool out-of-the-box player which does it's job well.

Nova Launcher: For that dash of customisation

Click UI Icon Pack: Superb designs

Dots: A light yet interesting game which becomes very addictive at times.

Asphalt 8 Airborne

SwiftKey

Some other notable apps:

Wikipedia

Wikihow

Moto Assist(present by default)

Studious

ES File Explorer

Off-road Thrills(Home grown app which keeps me updated on off road events across the country)

Google Goggles(Quite fun!)

MX Player

Re: What Apps are installed on your smartphone?

Most of you may already know but still sharing. CamScanner is one useful app that can be used to scan all your documents. It comes very handy to have your passport, pan card etc scanned and stored for any urgent requirement. Its different than taking a snap of a document as this removes the unwanted portion . Also you have an option to have the document in original format or black and white.

The same can be messaged, emailed or airprinted directly from the app.The document format option is JPG and PDF

Re: What Apps are installed on your smartphone?

Guess mine's the first windows phone mention on this thread.

Other than the usual networking apps (Linkedin / FB / Whatsapp / Skype) some apps I use frequently are:
- Foursquare (Food app)
- Moneycontrol
- OfficeLens (great to snap whiteboards etc. which I use a lot)
- Splittr (3rd party app for splitwise) - Android and iOS get the original app. It's really handy for all sorts of expense sharing
- Mileage log
- OneNote
