You haven't explained your problem clearly. What exactly is the problem? Are you saying that your modem is rebooting when the power fluctuates? Why would a modem need to be reset in case of power fluctuation (it shouldn't!)?

Can the same modem be used for both airtel & bsnl broadband, I don't plan to use them simultaneously but want to configure the PVCs of both so I can plug in the DSL cable and use it without having to reconfigure the modem again everytime.

Can it work?

Yes, it will work. You can add multiple connections. Configuration may depend on the modem make though.

BSNL wireless modem frequency?

Can anyone here let me know about the BSNL wireless modem frequency? I am shopping for a cordless phone at home and would like to avoid the frequency of the wireless modem.

Do you mean, modem connected to telephone line and has WiFi router inbuilt?
If I understand correct then its 2.4GHz ISM band. If you need exact frequency then you need to tell me the model of router and channel number which is configured there.

Both cordless and BSNL WiFi works in 2.4GHz band. You can very well avoid issue by using different channels. Both Cordless and modem supports modifying WiFi channels. Go forward.

Thank you. Then the Uniden TRU9485-R 5.8GHz cordless phone should work well in India.

BSNL is again issues in my area. the link light keeps on blinking and if it gets connected the DNS is not responding, tried everything and now fed up.

This is not less than a 200th time BSNL is out for the night, It will get rectified tomorrow around 11 A.M. no matter i call up at this hour, the resolution will only come when those idiots will reach on duty.

purpose of my post is, if anybody investing in router to use it along BSNL, just wait, private players with 3G speeds are already here, docomo launching it on 22 cities from 5th nov-2010 so don't waste money on a titanic (BSNL).

hi,
I have a BSNL broad band connection and would like to change to BSNL 3G USB modem. Today I tested in my area and I got 2.7Mb/S. Compared with the existing connection and didnt notice any performance lag. Anybody faced any issues with this USB modem? Is it advisable to go for it?

Cheers
Dinesh

The issue is that the bandwidth may vary drastically depending on traffic in case of mobile broadband. So suggest you to test for at least a couple of days, especially during peak traffic hours before taking a decision.

Don't buy modem from BSNL, buy the USB modem from market, this will make sure the modem is not locked to BSNL alone.
I get 3.2mbps sometimes, but problem in my area is when BSNL wired broadband has issues bsnl 3g is also slow as dial up.

so i am waiting for private players to come in.

I will suggest that prefer an Ethernet or Wireless Modem to a USB one. The latter uses a lot of the computer resources. My own experience is that DLink are very good.
