Yes I know that. Here we are not debating iPods with bill. We are talking about iPods without bill.

Sumit, unfortunately I must inform you that you are incorrect.

All Apple iPods, grey market or not, come with an international warranty that even covers replacement.

I have never purchased an iPod from the official Apple stores and yet these same apple official stores have replaced it twice for me. My 160GB iPod was purchased without a bill from the grey market.

Even iPods not registered online carry a warranty, however the date of purchase is approximated.

To make matters simpler, apple guys will never ask you for a bill when you bring it in for repair in less than a year.

Sam, is it only because you have good relations with the apple store? I find it hard to believe
that Apple would entertain grey-market purchases.

Allrite then Lord Sam, you made my day. I can now try to locate an iPod which went kaput a few months back. Purchased in July last year but grounded due to lack of knowledge on my part and mis-information on the part of the dealer. Thanks a ton.

I got my IPOD from US and i have lost the bill, but i have already got the earphones replaced once.
All IPODs have international warranty and Apple guys never ask for the bill also.

No my friend, you do not need any special relations. Apple will honour all warranties even from the grey market.

Yes Apple will honour all warranties even from grey market, but if you buy with bill the warranty period starts from the date of purchase whereas if its grey the warranty is from the date the ipod was dispatched.

Eg. If you buy an grey pod on 30 Jan 2008 and it was dispatched from apple on 30 december 2007 then u have warranty till 30 december 2008 only.

But if you buy with bill on 30 jan 2008 and it was dispatched by apple on 30 december 2007 u still get warranty till 30 jan 2009.

with all this grey market talk going on i guess its my duty to inform you guys something. I am one of the early ipod 160 gb classic adopters like always. i bought my ipod from dubai and i regret ever buying one. the sound was so low that i could here everything that was happening all around me. having all ipods since the 1st gen i cannot tell you how utterly disgusting the volume was on the classic. but having researched i found this.
All European ipods now come with a volume cap which controls at what volume the ipod should play at. So if anyone considers buying an ipod make sure its not from europe.

This is not correct! I bought my iPod Nano from Dublin(Ireland) last year and there is no volume cap etc, it plays perfectly fine.

iriver rocksss!!!!

IMHO the voice quality/output of the iriver is better than that of the ipod.
With the iriver you feel like you are listening to a concert.

As I said this problem is there since the time classic was released if you brought before it then its fine but if u brought it later then yours is a very rare case as now the volume cap is on by law.
