Turns out it was not just about OS - new Air and new MBP M2 announced as well. :)
Hi everyone, I am an android user till now, and the phones keep getting bigger and bigger in screen size and I hate it.
Gone are the days where I used the phone for gaming or binging, I need convenience & a great camera + features now.
Having said that, I can't get a new iPhone, so was thinking of going the used category way. I have seen friends using iPhone 7 & 8 still and happy with the performance.
Camera being the main priority, I was torn between the Google Pixel 4 and iPhone SX (both used). I am bored with Android so Pixel is taking a back seat for now, but I have heard great reviews about the camera.
What do you guys suggest? If going for the iPhone through the used route, what all should I check like we PDI the cars?

If in your budget, your requirement screams iPhone SE. I have the 2020 version and I love it. Sure, the camera is mentioned as lacking, but that is only when compared to the flagships. The Camera will match the iPhone 13 for 90% of the photo settings (it doesn't have dark mode) and beat Google pixel in video capture.

Ah, sorry I forgot to mention I am looking around 20,000-25,000 range +/- 2K bucks.
I have One Plus 6 right now.

I suggest getting a new iPhone on an EMI. iPhones have a great resale value in the used market so you don't really gain much by buying used.
Also I'd suggest you buy the iPhone 12 mini (which is available for quite less than the launch price) on EMI and you can keep it for 3-4 years.

Under 25K get the XS Max eyes closed, you’ll find plenty in excellent condition on OLX. Have it checked at an Apple store and have them run a diagnostics check. Check battery health, speakers, camera, screen. That’s about it.
Iphone 12 battery life is at 96% in 10.5 months.
My wife’s iPhone 12 mini battery life is at 98% in 5 months.
Putting thoughts for battery life first time. User of iPhone since iPhone 5 days.
Is it normal?

Absolutely normal. My iPhone 12’s battery life is at 86% after 16 months of heavy usage.
On the other hand, my friend’s 12 Pro Max which is again 16 months old has battery life of 94%, he being a medium-light user with no gaming but just running social media and phone app.
Had I not played some games, the battery life would have been on the higher side but that’s fine as you get your phone to enjoy to the fullest. ;)

Well, my iPhone 12 Pro is now at 85% after 14 months of usage. Just regular calling, WA, Insta, Safari, OTT apps & YT. No games or battery intensive apps. :disappointed
Pretty sure you guys are better placed. 😊
iPhone XS. Do we need to replace the Speakers too along with the Battery? Can't we replace only the Battery? Apple service centre says, both are attached to each other, so we need to replace both.

Tell them to give you this in writing on a letterhead. Pure bonkers, IMO.

No this is complete bs, please avoid that service centre. Better yet have them mail this pearl of wisdom to you and cc it to Apple India support.

Depends on the cycles you’ve put on battery, having said that the cells used in the 12 series iPhones were objectively subpar, I can say this as both my 12 Pro Max and my mums 12 mini were are at 81% (449 cycles) and 80% health respectively at 1 year of age. I’ve always used MagSafe and she’s always used the lighting cable with the apple brick and original cable, optimised charging was left on from day 1 on both devices. My 6S took 3.5 years to hit 81% health.
My 13 pro max in comparison has done so much better, still at 100% after 7 months and 225 cycles, using the same MagSafe charger (12 was at 92% after 220 cycles for reference.)

My 12 Pro was purchased in November 2020 and it is at 87% battery health. I am a pretty heavy user. Also my phone is always plugged in while driving for carplay. I also don’t use the original apple charger block and cable (I don’t believe they matter), taking all that into consideration it has held up pretty well for 18- 19 months.

I play occasionally COD and now Diablo. But I use Carplay pretty frequently. I just saw my Batterycyclecount in iPhone 12 logs, it is 247 in 10.5 months with battery health at 96%.
Looks decent.
I use usb C cable which came with phones. Was initially using 10w apple charger from old phone but later bought Spigen 70w dual usb C port charger brick and using it to charge both phones simultaneously for last 4 months.
