Rudra ji, you'll be surprised with all that this thread has taught me.

When I started I didn't even know that Audio is recorded on 2 Channels and Movies on 5. I didn't know that what separates the Home Theatre from HiFi (heck, I didn't even know that stereo music was called HiFi) is the Amplifier. A HT Amp is an AVR and a HiFi Amp is an IR.

Lot of people made suggestions that didn't make sense then, but oddly their meaning dawned on me when I visited the Market.

This thread helps me in asking intelligent questions, counter the Sales guy with alternate Brand names & fundaes that I have heard. he in turn justifies his stand and I get to learn all the more.

Hey SK, you have the contact details of Sunny?

The CA person (Shane) also mentioned Sunny (when I brought up Tannoy) and said that he could give me the contact details. But I don't want to ask him.

I'm not for a moment doubting that. Gathering knowledge is the key in TBHP. I'm happy to know that this thread has given you enough information to go and check out the marketplace.

Update

Well, thank you guys for contributing to this thread and teaching me so much about audio (esp. Home Theater versus HiFi).

The main reason for not going ahead with the HiFi that we almost finalized last month (refer few posts back) was that
Mum and Dad wanted something small and stylish that would blend into the background; Although we were quite OK with bookshelf speakers, there just wasn't any place to put the Amplifier & CD Player without buying a separate rack.

Sorry to disappoint you Audiophiles out there, but we've gone ahead and bought Bose after-all.

This is a linky to the product:

BOSE INDIA

Haven't installed it yet, will share a review when done.

was going trough this thread right from the beginning and it has been a really good resource. Sure has made me a lot more knowledgeable. Sad to know at the end, you picked up a bose...but as long as everyone's happy with it , nothing better. Enjoy it.

Manveet, congrats on your new system! There are very few here that would approve of Bose! However, I too am a Bose user and have been for over three decades!
Enjoy your 'terrible & overpriced' system, LOL!

Congrets for your Bose, welcome to the world of pure music than Noise.

Your criteria was quite clear and sonsidering that you were not left with much choices.

Going with Bose according to me was like going with best choice out of available in India.

Get some original music Disks and enjoy bose sound clarity and instrumental details.

Gosh Jeeper, you're a brave one to say so much! There's more than a fair chance you'll get flamed for this here!

Dear Anup,

Its not a brave statement there are efforts and detail study behind my claim.
I did considerable research before going for my Denon AVR & Infinity Speaker system.
I bought the system from singapore brought it to Batam Island Indonesia followed by air freight to Jakarta and last year in India weighting @ 200 kgs a grand total.(spend @ Rs 3 Lacs including airfreight and duties for bringing in to India)

Healthy debet with fair intention is always welcome, will be considering as sharing the knowledge and experience. I shall be able to provide feed back of several bose useres that are fully satisfied with Bose equipment.

Yours might be the one unfortunate relationship with bose.
