Guys, could someone please help me with a definative comparison as to which one scores over the other in terms of features???.

The only difference between the two that i am aware of is that the N82 has a xenon flash which the N95 lacks(thats all i know). I think all the other features are the same, please correct me if i am wrong here! Is there anything else that i need to keep in mind before making a choice???. Guys, please help me out urgently.

PS.Both the above models are priced similarly.

Cheers
If its not the N95 8 GB version, N82 would be better bet overall. Even if it was N95 8Gb.. I dont see it bettering N82 except for bigger screen. I prefer classic candybars to flips or sliders.

The Nokia E71 is the successor to the Nokia E61/E62/E61i. It will have a 3.2 megapixel camera, GPS, WiFi, HSDPA, weigh 120 grams and be only 57 x 112 x 10 mm; a hell of a lot less wide than the E61i at 70 mm

Here is a leaked pic of the same

Thanks dude, but even the N95 8GB is only superior to the N82 in terms of memory right i.e.8gb and a bigger screen and thats it, am i right??

But what i don't like about the N95 8Gb is that it does not have a shutter for the camera.

BTW my above mentioned question still remains...........In which other way is the N95 8Gb superior to the N82 other than the obvious greater memory storage and the bigger screen??

The hardware for N95 8GB and N82 is exactly the same. The N95 8GB lacks a memory card slot which is there in the N82 using which you can use bigger than 8GB cards as and when available. N82 also uses flash which is superior to white led in N95 8GB. GPS sensitivity is better in N82 too, owing to the placement of the receiver.
And the N82 just trumps N95 8GB when it comes to price, N82 is a whole 9K's cheaper.

Symbian OS is the underlying operating system (like Unix is to Mac OS X, or Windoze is to 2K, XP or Vista, or even the different distributions of Linux), which handles the basic functionality of the phone.

"Series xx" corresponds to the set of applications that constitute the User Interface. These applications need Symbian OS to function - they cannot function independently, i.e. you cannot take out the binary of, for example, the Gallery application and make it run on a Linux phone.

UIQ on S-E phones has the same concept - applications running on underlying Symbian OS.

However, if the phone does not have a powerful-enough processor, or has limited functionality, a simpler 'executive' is used instead of the regular Symbian OS. Series 40 phones have this, maintaining the screen look and feel almost identical to Series 60, and hence leads to the "Symbian OS" confusion.

@finneyp & nishantgandhi, I think the confusion came out of the fact that we can install install JAVA apps in Series 40 phones. nishantgandhi was able to install the GMAIL app and Opera Mini (both Java apps) on the Series 40 phone.

To make things a bit more confusing, the current Series 40 menu looks a lot like the Symbian menu.

Quite simple,

go to Settings-->today-->items-->calendar

when u click calendar, a button "Options" will get highlighted on right hand side of screen. Click that and select show all...

enjoy

None, these two are the only advantages N95 8GB has over N82.

Like extreme_torque pointed out, camera of N82 is better than that of N95 8GB because it has xenon flash and it has a shutter. As a matter of personal preference, I like candy bars more than flip or slider phones so I when I bought my phone in January I picked N82 over N95 8GB and I am quite happy with it.
