Err, correct me if I am wrong, but isn't that also exactly Symbian's claim to fame? I was under the impression that Symbian has a greater no of freeware applications built for it.

I believe thats because Nokia is a development partner in Symbian OS
@nishantgandhi
well i googled for Win mobile freeware & have still not been able to go through all their sites. See think of it in this way, imagine the amount of software made for Windows over the years, now imagine most of the applications converted for use on win mobile, dont you think the possibilities are enormous? see i am not putting symbian down in any way (i still have my 9300i with Series 80); i'm just totally put off by the lack of features in their new range, the E90 & the E71, many applications/inbuilt features in the communicator devices have been omitted in it as they are based on the single platform Series 60. The hardware they have taken care of but they should be progressive in software too, not regressive. please dont take it in the wrong way, i'm not into Nokia bashing just against their monopolising attitude e.g. like the over rated Apple iPhone.

Nokia OWNS Symbian. Used to be 50% earlier, now they own all of it.

Tell me about it - I have about 4 DVDs full of WinMo applications (which are real applications that work on the device, not pretty GUIs for Web-based applications like most of Apple's APPs). You have more applications out there than you will have time (or space on the device, for that matter!) to install and use.
Which is why I chuckle when I hear all that talk about Apple's SDK and how it is going to revolutionize PDAs/Phones. The Windows Mobile SDK has been out for quite a few years now.
@steeroid
agree totally dude. hows your pro doing? how is the processor speed? sounds good on paper but just want to know from a hands on user. I want to get the pro for myself (retaining th 9300i as i'm getting peanuts for it), think it will be around 35-36k's in india when available, wot say?
Guys,
I need a small help. My Nokia 2300 is broken. I am planning to give it for servicing. I sort of very much like the phone.
I need Bluetooth in the same. Can it be incorporated in it ? Will anyone be kind enough to send me the pointers to the right directions in Bangalore ?
Thanks
While I have pretty much decided to get myself the E71 this weekend (Despite the lack of Symbian SDK compared to WinMo), two news articles caught my interest in Engadget today.
1) Google Android will be launching on the HTC Dream in a couple of weeks. Haptic Feedback + Advanced Platform will make for an interesting phone. My only concern is availibility in India and the buggy software as this is a new platform entirely.
2) HTC Dream HD - Supposed to launch around christmas time. This looks brilliant and will have WVGA Screen + other WinMo goodies. the only drawbacks are that this would be 20K+ and TouchFLo tends to run a bit slow plus the integration between Touch Flo and regular WinMo is not very clean.

Thoughts, Gentleman?
I am planning to get HTC Touch 3452. I currently own a Nokia mobile. I am actually looking for a good business mobile where i can read or edit word document, excel spread sheet and read pdf files. I also need good video player in the handset. I am somehow attracted to HTC Touch 3452.
Problem:
I read some reviews on mouthshut.com that HTC touch has some serious issues with the OS. The system hangs very often and we don't get calls when you play some games or brows the net from the mobile.
Please give your suggestions regarding the same.
Thanks.
Nokia Series60 phone can edit word documents, excel and read pdf files. There are softwares available for the all these functions.
@ N82 users : New Firmware V 30.0.019 is out, currently only for EU phones i believe.
You can also Check on the nokia site using this Product Code 0558752
The file size is 123mb. Changelog isn't available yet so dont know what all is taking up the 123mb space :D

These were the issues with 'The Elf" or 3450. With the increased ROM/Flash memory (128/256) in 3452, they have given the breathing space the platform required, effectively alleviating the system crashes.
