Hi,
In recent times there is a flood of Indian companies manufacturing Mobiles.
To Name a few we have
LAVA
MAXX
MICROMAX
VIDEOCON
ONIDA
LEMON
SPICE
GEE PEE
INTEX
ZEN
CARBON
FLY. etc.
Has anyone in the forum using any of these mobiles. Please share the quality and experience of these brands also some inputs on pros and cons over Biggies like NOKIA MOTOROLA would be interesting to know.
I'm not sure but i think most of these are just rebranded China made mobiles.

thanks for the inputs suman.
i have saved the pics of all the phones on my desktop. all are equally specced & my favourites are Nokia 6700 & samsung S7350. I'll show the pics to my dad & let him decide based on the looks! most probably, we both will prefer the nokia, as its a nokia! |
Thanks a lot for your inputs suman. i bought the Nokia 6700 slide for my dad in silver colour & he is very pleased with the phone.
Large easy to use buttons & user interface is what he liked- a nokia trademark!
the phone does feel a bit heavy for its size but i feel thats due to the build quality. the panels have a metal feel to it & add to the phone's robustness.
thanks again.
I did use Zen and fly. Of course the price was dam cheap. Just a low end ones bought for the purpose of using my good old least used numbers and a stand by Sim to guests. Both are of very poor quality and the audio is horrible.
I am planning for a Nokia 5800. My E61i is not getting charged. I am bound to go for a change. In this regard I need,E Mail,GPRS, 3G and a secondary Camera for Video call. I found it is fine. Any 5800 users can advise me to go ahead or go for something else. Budget up to 15K no problem.
@navan... Look at Samsung Wave which comes for around 17.5k's. The 5800 isnt worth buying now.

See if you can get the 5800 for 10-11k. Its an old phone but a great phone.
IMHO, X6 at 15k isnt worth as its almost the same as a 5800.

Anyone have any experience with the Samsung Galaxy S? Its a bit expensive, so was considering the Wave also. How's Bada compared to Android? |
Compared to Android it is in infancy IMHO, This is the first phone.
On Galaxy-S you will get Froyo ( 2.2) update very soon , but bada performance is equally good ( froyo or no froyo) . The biggest advantage of Android today is the application availability. So you need to think of the price point difference of 10K if it justifies going for Galaxy-S buy it you will not be disappointed.
Galaxy-S is the best Android phone today and in some regard better then some others.
the X6 is almost the same when compared to the 5800 only major difference being it has a capacitive touchscreen as against a resistive one on the 5800

Have a look at X6. It is better than 5800. X6 has capacitive touch screen, 5MP camera and sleek body. Price is around 15.5K.

In Bangalore, 5800 is 13.5K and Wave is 17.5K.

Could you tell me the shop which offered the Wave for 17.5K ? The least i have found so far was at Hypercity which offered it for 17,999 . Sangeetha and Univercell were selling it for around 18,300 :(.
I shifted to Pune from Chennai recently. I have a pre paid plan from BSNL.
Ever since I moved here I am unable to access my email inbox through Nokia Messaging Service (NMS).
Can someone in Pune with a working NMS give me his settings.
Guys,
Looking to pick up a new phone and it has to be a Nokia. A good replacement for my 3 year old Nokia N82. How is the Nokia N97 Mini? Does the slide mechanism malfunction?
