its simple. the smart cover doesn't protect the back or the sides. isn't something to carry it in with |
The cover that used to come with the earlier iPad, did a good job of protecting the iPad (on both sides) as well as propping up the iPad at two very usable angles. Why not go for that one? Old is gold!

iPad 1's cover doesn't work with iPad2 since it doesn't have the slots in right places. To use the camera, you may have to remove the cover.
Apple's 'Smart Cover' makes a fashion statement. If someone wants a functional cover, I recommend
ZooGue iPad 2 Black Leather Case Genius. Check my post & photo here:
http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/gadget...ml#post2321488 Yes, Zoogue case puts the iPad to sleep when closed & wakes up when opened.

Hi All,
Now, seeking advice on which would be best converter (have whole bunch of movies) to add movies to IPAD. |
I personally use GoodPlayer app and it's the best out there. It plays all the usual video formats so there is no need to convert anything. It's not free though. They have frequent updates too wherein they keep adding new file formats etc. Worth every penny.

Or, use a Scalpel and carve out the slots yourself. :D But, I agree.

About Us
My Ipad2 3G + wifi 16GB model WHITE is on the way, my cousin is arranging the same for me from australia, i have been waiting for it since the time it is launched, i tried every possible store in india but not available, and i have also ordered a smartcover for it.
Guys,
Iam totally pissed off with the light bleeding issue on my second IPAD2 too (replaced one very next day with the same problem). As such light bleeding is not an issue as long as one uses apps or IPAD screens, the moment I start watching movies it really distracts me since I watch them in dark for most of the times.
Visited Istore yesterday and need to drop my IPAD this morning to get replacement on Thursday. Iam not ok to use it with the issue it has,
First of all I don't expect a premium charged Apple IPAD should have any such issues. Having said that Iam not sure if the replacement IPAD2 would not have issues :deadhorse
One more frustrating thing is in the process of replacements Iam loosing 2k (spent on scratch guards),:Frustrati and Istore folks are reluctant to pay/provide me with a free/discounted replacement for it as it's an accessory inspite of they being purchased from Istore itself.
I need suggestions on this,
> Should I replace or retain it as it's not guaranteed to be fixed with another one.
One would know issue only when the box is opened and what if it has a bleeding too??
Raghu, it seems the newer batches don't have the bleed issue.
There is a thread on one of the discussion forums on the net where folks are tracking bleed issue based on serial number series. Think it is on hardwareforumes.com.sg. Check that out.

Hi Rtandon,
Thanks for the info, I went trough some of the forums and what I conclude is there's no definite series which has a fix.
Anyways I got my replacement IPAD this evening and it's worse than the second one I had.
I took the route through Apple care for the second replacement and raised my concern on the replaced product.
They were trying to help in terms of speaking to the service adviser at the Istore to help me out with an immediate replacement as the problem still exists on the new one too.
But the process followed here is different and they can't help me out:Shockked:, and the moron actually closed my previous case number stating IPAD has been replaced even before I went to store. I had no choice than to take the IPAD and raise a new case for fixing the issue.
Got a new case number for a replacement again :Frustrati

You welcome and too bad that they don't have a fix on this.

Lucky you. I'm not sure if they would replace it for me because of the bleed.

Why wouldn't? did you get it from US?
Snippet from one the executive from apple with whom Iam interacting, Iam
shocked with the response
My mail:
Thanks XXXX,
I hope I get a defect free IPAD this time. Fingers crossed
Regards
Raghu
Response:
You are welcome! I really hope that too..
it's just a matter of luck! :Shockked:
Fingers crossed indeed :)
Take care!
A non-tech savvy friend of mine bought an IPad2 recently. He is also paying someone to Jail Break it.
I have never used a IPad so I was wondering what's the need for jailbreaking it for a non-techy person. What can you do after jailbreaking that you cannot do otherwise?

No.
Actually yours is the first case which I've heard where it was replaced due to bleed.
My replacement iPad does not bleed. Just had faulty sim card tray.

Oh lucky you then :)
My fair of issues with Apple are still continuing, Iam in final discussion before I would ask for a complete refund. Got my 4th IPAD on saturday and it too had the same issue.
Raised my voice with Apple care just moments ago, waiting for their call to update on the next proceedings.
Apple, confirms that they know the issue and apparently they don't have a solution yet. Their technical team is still working on it:Shockked:
