Just got an iPad2 as my B'day gift. Can you guys tell me which is a best free video player that plays all the video format (especially flv)?

I am offered 1 out of 10 first lot to the country for being part of a project I never had any Apple plans till Jan this year, but MacBook Pro just came to my life by some random decision making this month, now iPad 3 (HD) is waiting to get delivered with zero cost, one can not be happier than this, and I will be getting the highest configuration done by Apple !

Congratulations!
I doubt if there is any free ones available. VLC was taken off the store a while back. Your best bet is to use a converter program to have mp4 files played via native player.

There are a couple of free alternatives there. The one I use is Oplayer Lite. It plays most file formats, not sure about FLV though. If you search, you'll find quite a few options.

I still have VLC installed but I rarely use it. It is slow and crashes too often. So worthless if you ever got hands on it.

I have been using VLC player since it's debut on app store with no issues till date. Post iOS 5.1 the only issue that cropped up was that audio is only through headset. The player present itself as the best alternative to the native player for I can simply drag drop the files to be stored and don't have to worry about conversion. However, I still believe the best player on iOS is the native player. Why? As most players do not scale the image when played on air play to a TV. Mirroring of screen is possible and its quite handy for projectors as well.

I will give OPlayer a shot. I recommend you to reinstall VLC and try again (incidentally it still shows for your purchased app even though it's off for fresh purchase).

Thats strange, I don't face any such issues with VLC player, both my devices (IP4,IPAD) are running with 5.1 and VLC works like charm.

So that means there is scope of inconsistent behavior by apps

Also my iPad does not ring alarms by third party apps I have rest it but no use.

Certain things come in life which you dont expect or wish, apple products are the same thing for me. Although two of my in-laws are imac, macbook, iphone, ipad users and constantly showing off their gadgets, I never had any wish for it.

Now when I get mine, I wont have any experience on reviewing it, because I dont have any clue about what was there and whats new between variants

Is there a way to figure out your prepaid 3G usage on ipad2? The customer care keeps asking me to call 121 from my iPad2 :(

Or is there any app which monitors it?

Just click the general then choose the usage section you will then see Cellular usage under it. Once there you see the screenshots.

You can reset it at anytime. My usage / bill is from starting of the month and I reset it on 1st. So you can see what you use.

Just got a hold of my ipad 3. Shall post pictures soon. I didnt get box etc as i had it shipped in through a pilot from the usa. 32gb for 37k. Thats quite the deal.

New iPad aka ipad 3 was launched in India and 27 April 2012 and I grabbed the awesome device on the same day from iMagine stores forum mall. new ipad 64 GB wifi + 4G, cost me 50,900 INR plus accessories like smart cover around 2800 bucks and screen guard (900 bucks). As of now enjoying the experience with retina display and full HD.

Also, when the device was launched in the US on 07 March 2012 most of users reported overheating issues for which apple never had any convincing answers to the consumers. Just to give you guys heads up on this, my new iPad is ON since more than 2 days now and i am not experiencing any heating issues whatsoever

I am new to tablet world, so requesting all you guys to bear with me for any noob questions i might have in the future :P

I have been struggling with my present the iPad ii wifi 32 gb. Any app including the team BHP app even if free, needs to be downloaded from apple app stores and that requires furnishing of info of my credit card. I am an old geezer and don't have any credit card.
Please help me to solve this problem as I would love to download e-books and a few apps for free.

I do not have any direct help for you.
All I can say that check in macforums.com or the forum in apple website. Or, provide some close/dependable friend/relative's card details if you are sure NEVER to buy anything from app store.
