No, it does not work like this. When you order something(offline or online), and then product is not delivered, you can dispute the claim. The merchant then has to show proof that you have gotten the item.

I understand ebay (& others probably) works in that fashion which is a good practice. But when you do a physical transaction, the charge slip is all that counts AFAIK. If what you say is how it does work, buyers would welcome that.
Any transaction done online or in store can be disputed as tsk1979 says. It doesn't matter if you have signed or not. It boils down to if the product is delivered or not by the merchant.
In my case, the merchant has agreed to give a credit, but asking for formalities. I think my case would not be ideal for dispute though the product is not delivered. If I file a dispute, after investigation, the money could be reverted back as the merchants are willing for a credit. That's the reason I am skeptical about filing dispute.
Otherwise filing dispute is a very convenient way, I did it once with Paramount airways and no hassles. The card bank gives a temporary credit of the amount claimed and start on the investigation.
Is IPad 3 available off the shelf in Bangalore stores?

Oh yes. Almost all the major stores are carrying it now. They may not have it on display but they do have units to sell.

If you accept a cheque, yet another avoidable chapter begins. Imagine if it were to be a rubber and bounces.
Get your banker to immediately stop payment against the incomplete transaction.
I'm an ex-banker.
Good luck and all smiles

Yesterday I borrowed a Credit Card and activated my ITunes an apple store a/cs ands till this morning was downloading free books and apps. After a brief spell of sleep, I'm back at it.
Immediately on activation, the CC a/c has been debited by a $, even tho' I had only down loaded free goodies. I decided to let it go.
I'm enjoying me iPad only now.
Did you notice that the iPad has no cursor. But a little ball of highlight appears at your point of contact and you can slide your finger backward without erasing?
I fumbled and got my BSNL modem, originally cable-connected, to function as a WI-FI, with no code Number or any nonsense as suggested by the BSNL staff.
(One even had the cheek to say that the a new WI-FI modem had to be bought; Their offices are about 10 miles away. So out of sheer laziness, I avoided going there and buying a new modem. Earlier the same Specialist had suggested that I buy a new modem as the warranty period was over, when for two months I was paying my Broad Band bill without Internet connection. When I went in person, a junior gentleman just upgraded the software and the modem started working.
I began my career in Bangalore in the erstwhile P&T before moving on to Banking and still have a soft corner for the Posts and BSNL as against looters such as Spi.., Re......, Ta.. , the private sector service providers. But I am'afraid they are all collaborating in closing down BSNL.)
Do you know that I do not need my desktop on for working on my iPad; I just switch on my modem and my iPad has Internet connectivity.
Love and smiles,
Rom

I think you are referring to secured login, which requires password for Wifi. I personally would prefer this to be enabled to avoid any misuse. iPad supports the same, so you shouldn't have any issues even if you enable a wep or wpa login.

Jaggu,
Thanks.
I noticed this login yesterday when I switched on my tablet at the micro-pub
"toit". How do I go about switching over from guest-checkin to Secured login?
Have a very nice day.

Best is to get the technician to enable this in your wifi modem, if not head to the Wifi router thread and post details of your modem model etc then others can guide you.
Basically you need to login into the modem and enable the wifi security setting and assign your unique password.

Enjoyment is the idea :) however, you need to get a tab on what you tap to buy.
That bubble is for precise editing and spell correction with magnifying function. I pad has a cursor moving within it.
Enjoy your iPad to the fullest.

Does anyone know of a store in Kolkata where I can get the latest ipad, hopefully at a discount?
Just got myself the iPad 3 16GB WiFi only model. It is straight away liked by my 3 and half year old daughter and she refuses to place it down. I'm slowly turning out to be an Apple fan. First with the IP4S and now the iPad. My Notebook which I primarily use for development activities is just a year and half old. I'm already considering to replace it with a Mac Book Pro. But let me wait untill next year and once my current notebook turns 3, I would definitely get the Mac Book Pro. So far my experience with Apple products are awesome.
Can anyone suggest any good games on the iPad for children?
