Why not flash a factory image of Kitkat and be done with it? Lollipop has a bitter after taste for many of my friends with the N5. |
Exactly what I intend to do now, but then was checking if there were any other fixes as such.
Looks like kitkat is the way forward.
I am using a motoG2 for a while now.
Running 5.0.2 on it currently.
Not very happy with the experience. Battery life is the major issue.
Once the battery was shownig 44% and suddenly it showed 0% and the phone switched off.
It worked fine after normal charging.
Waiting for the 5.1 update. Is motorola even going to roll-out this update for Moto G2?
The cat is out of the bag now and Android 6 is known as Marshmallow! Google Play is ready to accept Apps developed for MM now!

I second this! Google's own Motorola was supposed to get all updates before others, but it hasn't been the case so far.
And we're already talking about Android 6! Boooooo....
Team, I have a Lenovo A6000+.
Recently noticed that I am not able to update or download apps from Play store. The reason being error 194.
Now I have tried everything under the sun as suggested on various forums such as clear cache and data, re login to play store etc.
Any other solution please help.

Try uninstalling Google Play updates from apps.

Each and every Motorola device running on Lollipop, name a second brand with that record.

Android mobile phones are for ordinary people, and Google Play Store, as witnessed by its puerile name, is supposed to have
mass appeal, and what do they give us instead of an intelligible error message? A meaningless number. :Frustrati
Here's a couple of things that have helped me with odd Playstore errors...
1. Check the phone's date, time and time zone. Even if you are sure it is right!
2. Check for large, unwanted files taking up storage space.
Both, at different times, have fixed the frustration of incomprehensible errors for me.

Motorola did roll out the 5.1 update in China a couple of weeks ago, according to reports, but since then, there's been no mention of the same anywhere else. And now that Marshmallow 6.0 is already announced and round the corner, working on rolling out a minor update doesn't make a lot of sense either.
And if you do want to upgrade to 5.1, you could always consider switching to a custom rom like CyanogenMod 12.1. There must be some pretty stable builds for the moto g 2 out there...
I'm using a Moto G 1st gen since last 1 year. I have a few problems, one if which is very peculiar.
1. Every now and then, without touching the phone, the volume drops down to minimum and vibration switches off. Now I have to keep increasing the volume every time.
2. Facebook app was not updating so I uninstalled it. Now its not installing and throws up some 204 error.
3. The phone has been getting slow since it was updated to 5.0.2
Any clues?

That kind of problems are quite common, apparently. Ordinary bugs after lollipop updates. To get rid of some of them at least, and to make the phone considerably snappier, best option would be to back up your data and factory reset. That does the trick most of the times. Plus the phone should almost perform as well as new. As for the play store error, if it is with all apps, try to clear cache from storage settings, or clear data of the play store app from app settings. If it's only for the Facebook app, temporarily you could as well consider sideloading an apk of that app.
+1 from me for posts mentioning:
1. Have a Moto G2
2. On 5.0.2 waiting for 5.1 OR 6 :D
3. Lower Battery life than expected.
(Mine runs 20 hours on light use, I expect it to run 1.5 day )
Have been using Greenify, that helps upto some extent.
Also, activating battery saver mode at night gives barely 3-4% battery drop overnight :)
Cheers,
Ace.
Any 5.0.x versions are bound to give problems. That is why they have the 5.1.x releases :)
Lenovo has laid off several hundreds of Motorola employees in the Bay area, Chicago and elsewhere.
I expect this cut of workforce to have an adverse impact on the software updates in the future.
In other news, Motorola has started producing Moto E from the new plant in Tamil Nadu.
This is in line with the Make in India theme.
Guys, need info on LG G4. Knew that it is a dual sim phone and supports 4G. But does it support 4G on both the sim slots or just on the 1st sim slot. Upon enquiring, some are saying yes and some are saying no. On net, it was mentioned that upon firmware upgrade to version 10d, it supports 4G on the 2nd sim slots if the above 1st is in gsm mode.
Can anyone confirm this. Thanks in advance.
Guys, looking forward to finalize the Lenovo K3 Note. Can anybody confirm if it supports 64 gb Samsung Evo cards? I need a lot of space for apps & am worried that I will run out of space very soon with the internal memory + 32 GB card combination. Hence planning to get the 64 GB card but the specification page states that it supports cards only till 32 GB. Anybody using it with a 64 gb version?
