Yes, it is covered. Go to the service centre and they will take your headphone and will give you new one in a day or two.

But, IMO you are better off with new good earphones, the one which came with phone, is quite disappointing.

Can i take it to any service.center? I know the stock ear phones are not at par but it is still better to get the replacement if it is covered in warranty.

No they come with 6 months warranty only unless explicitly specified by manufacturer.

As stated by Parthasarathig, ALL ACCESSORIES come with 6 MONTHS NON-EXTENDABLE WARRANTY.
By the way, it could be a defect with the 3.5 mm jack too. Did you check with another headphone, or did you try using your headphone on another handset ?

@ bluevolt - Yes, you should take it to Service Center, only if its within 6 months from Date of Purchase. But anyway like sameerg001 says, you can always go for a better earphones.
My personal recommendation is Creative EP 640. Me and wifey have been using this for the last 5 years - Strong, sturdy and excellent noise cancellation with nice bass boost.

Yes most of the manufacturers offer 6 months warranty for in the box accessories but I think HTC offers 1 year warranty. Its also stated in Flipkart on HTC items. http://www.flipkart.com/htc-one-v/p/...d-fc7ac6fba06c

Guys please suggest a good midrange android phone. My budget is around 15k.

HTC offers 1 year warranty on accessories. I will be taking the earphones to one of the service centers near my place and then they will courier me the replacement earphones. Will be going tomorrow to the service center.

Micromax A116 Canvas HD, HTC One V, Samsung Galaxy S Duos and Sony Xperia J are good options at this price point. All run at least Android 4.0 or more. Specs wise A116 Canvas HD betters what One V, Galaxy S Duos or Xperia J has to offer (mainly a quad core processor and a 720p display, others are single or dual core and WVGA display).

The downside for Micromax around brand resale value exist. Samsung smartphone get maximum resale value (I personally checked around for resale prices online and in store). Also heard that Flipboard app installation issues exist with A116.

Good luck getting the A116. Snapdeal still has a backlog of over 5k orders.

Any expected date for the 4.1.2 on galaxy note in India? Can we flash the south Asian versions via Odin or will it cause bricking?

Thanks for suggestions. How is Samsung Galaxy S advance? I checked Flipkart and they are selling it for 14.5k Is it a good choice?

S advance is good - MOved from a Defy to S advance as I bricked the defy [Too many ROMs every week :D]

I get an easy one day talktime - The AMOLED display is better and S advance has 16Gb internal memory in addition to SD card :thumbs up

Temple Run 2, Subway surfers, Sprinkle free and Beach buggy Blitz are running lag free.

And I am yet to root stupid:

The only negative is that it does not feel as Rugged as the Defy and IS NOT WATERPROOF!

subscribe to HS18, seen it for 12xxx couple of times this month, last was 12355 IIRC.

But seriously, unless you are in a hurry, back-order to Canvas HD - MUCH MORE Phone for the price, no?

Thanks a lot guys. So Galaxy S advance is a good choice. But many people said that they are facing network issues. Is it there in your phone? Micromax a116 is good but it is out of stock everywhere.

Yes S advance's network inside highly insulated places is not so great. But Im outdoors most of the time, so it works!

Also, the phone battery life improves with time!
