The funny thing is that I was about to pay for it (expiring in Apr 2013), and without even paining me once, it auto-extended. Good show I say!:uncontrol First case where I was about to pay for an app and got it free! |

It happened to me also after the first year. Next time I actually wanted to pay for it and did it a couple days before expiry. Its one of the most used apps on my phone :-) Have tried out lot of IM apps after WA, but none provided the simplicity of this thing. |

I was hoping the latest update from Whatsapp would make it less sluggish. But it hasn't happened. :( The new Holo version seems to take more battery and RAM too. I don't quite understand - what is so special about it? Have you tried others like KiK, Wechat, etc? Kik esp. is rapidly catching on. Geez, even Gtalk could be a substitute. Whatsapp has several flaws/drawbacks - 1) Hogs way too much ROM and RAM. Since it is permanently resident, with no way to offload itself, like say Skype, its permanently sitting in your precious RAM. I don't know why they dont allow you exit like Skype, so you can stop receiving messages when you don't want to. 2) Sluggish... and getting even more sluggish, esp. on lower end phones. 3) Cant move to SD. 4) No dark theme. 5) Last seen time & date could be a privacy issue for some. 6) Now going paid, while many good free options are available. 7) No voice calls (some other messengers do both voice and texting) |

Vodafone 2g is awfully slow in loading the play store. I activated the 3g 1gb plan which is pretty cheap. |

BTW, You should really get 3G. It is almost a sin to have a s3 and use it on 2G only!! |

This my reason list: 1) I have 70% of my contact list on Whatsapp. Nothing else come close. On KiK and WeChat, I never found any of my contacts. Line had 2 of them :) 2) Regarding sluggishness I have never faced it. Probably because am running on a Note 2. 3) The memory footprint is 16MB. I don't care even after all these I end up having around 1GB of free RAM all the time. 4) It doesn't allow logging in using same phone number from different devices at a time, am not sure about other IM's. This is "security" for me. 5) Paid with no ads is OK for me and that too around 50 INR per year. What's the big deal if the app is satisfying you. I used to spend at least 10 times that amount while SMS was my only IM. 6) Can't move to SD is not a big deal for me, on stock JB I can't move any apps to SD on my Note 2. Agreed on the dark theme part, I am crying for one for some time now especially since now using an AMOLED. After trying out all these options for IM, I use Whatsapp and VOIP I use Vonage :thumbs up |

Will this solution work, or do I have a risk of damaging the inside of the flip cover (the soft portion that sits on the screen) ??? Any ideas or experiences, please share. |
