Thanks ajay!!

I just came to this thread to see if anyone had any experiences with the Xtreamer and if it was available in India.

I guess the 10k pricetag is a bit of a premium though!

A friend of mine bought Xtreamer from xtreamer.net 2 months ago and got delivery yesterday.

He had to pay Rs.2,100/- as custom duty.

So overall damages were (Euro 119)8500+2100 = 10600.

Saw somebody else also paying same amount on other forum.

Thats bad, for personal use, custom duty - not fair.

By the way I am buying through Indian Dealer for Rs.9,990/- all inclusive and they have assured delivery latest by 5th September. I paid them on 24th.

Thanks for those details ajaydelhi. I am thinking of buying one as a present for my parents within the next 2weeks.

Did you get it? Or did you get a reminder that we live in India?

Would love to hear your experience with :
1) Buying the xtreamer in india.
2) Views on the Xtreamer itself.

Thanks,
R

I understand that xtreamer is not sold anywhere in stores, you have to order online. Is this an authentic dealer?

for now, Xtreamer is coming with the wireless adapter for free, are you getting that offer when you order it from India dealer?
How about the warranty? are you going to get the warranty when you buy from India dealer?
Deliery time is going to be another thing that we have to consider, I have heard that xtreamer ships within 3 days of ordering it online now as they have started mass production.

Has anyone compared this with the newer version of PCH? (its C-200 I guess) - I know PCH is bit costlier, may be because of the processor they have and amount of RAM they use (double than xtreamer I guess) , apart from that what are other differences, I coudl see Xtreamer supports more no of file formats compared to PCH. any review / comparision will help for sure.

and lastly, could you please let me know the contact details for Xtreamer india dealer?

It seems some people already got the delivery of the xtreamer by the indian dealer. Wish the price was 7k as it's everywhere else (99 euro). I would probably now wait and see how the WD TV 2 gives a fight to xtreamer. Probably that'll make the prices come down to a lower level.

With Sony PS3 Slim out and priced at $299, I think it's a steal at that price. Will that be a better buy than WDTV ? But, it may take a long time for the prices to come down here in India

My friend has got the delivery a couple of weeks back, I saw that device last week but could never demo things. all in all looks nice device, currently it has got 2.5" HD casing, I'm waiting for the one that comes with 3.5", that should let you fit a larger capacity disk and also help with some heat emission!!

I'm still waiting for some of the questions above, lets see if Ajay can provide some review / first hand experience.

okay, I got to it a bit later, already wrote them and they are replying instantly. it seems the offer on free shipping and free wifi is upto September 10 only.

I'm interested to get the newer device where they are going to allow you to accomodate 3.5" HDD (more capacity drives can be accomodated). Checking with them on when is this new device going to be available! We may not get the offers by then.

Nice pictures Ajay,

I'm planning to buy one soon. is that the Onkyo HT you have? which model is that?
I've got 5105B. I was out of action for long time on these pieces, i will be getting a couple of HDMI cables soon and start setting up all devices (T-Sky, 360, Philips 5996 and xtreamer if I get it in near future).

Hi Ajaydelhi,

Thanks for the pics!

I have a Q regarding the online video watching (youtube and others) :

1> How many sites/sources are there
2> How easy is it to navigate with the remote etc (eg. search for a particular youtube video etc)

Thanks,
R
